Summary

In December 2025 U.S. agencies published 695 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 604 from FDA, 33 from CPSC, 52 from NHTSA and 6 from USDA FSIS.

That total is up 35% from November 2025 (514), and up 33% from December 2024 (524).

Medical devices made up the largest share (393, 57%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (69), salmonella (64) and labeling, dosing or quality defects (55).

Of the 557 recalls our plain-English summaries have rated so far, 80 (14%) were rated “stop using now”.
