Summary

In January 2026 U.S. agencies published 367 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 277 from FDA, 50 from CPSC, 39 from NHTSA and 1 from USDA FSIS.

That total is down 47% from December 2025 (695), and down 32% from January 2025 (540).

Medical devices made up the largest share (155, 42%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were labeling, dosing or quality defects (56), contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (50) and falls, cuts and other injuries (44).
