Summary

In February 2025 U.S. agencies published 461 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 368 from FDA, 43 from CPSC, 46 from NHTSA and 4 from USDA FSIS.

That total is down 16% from January 2025 (546), and down 24% from February 2024 (610).

Medical devices made up the largest share (188, 41%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were listeria (64), contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (61) and falls, cuts and other injuries (43).

Of the 409 recalls our plain-English summaries have rated so far, 65 (16%) were rated “stop using now”.
