Summary

In March 2025 U.S. agencies published 416 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 341 from FDA, 32 from CPSC, 40 from NHTSA and 3 from USDA FSIS.

That total is down 10% from February 2025 (461), and down 20% from March 2024 (522).

Medical devices made up the largest share (202, 49%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were lead, chemicals or poisoning (56), device or part malfunction (46) and labeling, dosing or quality defects (42).

Of the 389 recalls our plain-English summaries have rated so far, 63 (16%) were rated “stop using now”.

American Contract Systems had the most records (33). FDA files one record per product, so one recall event can account for many of these.

Among vehicles, Ford had the most NHTSA recall campaigns (12).
