Summary

In November 2024 U.S. agencies published 455 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 396 from FDA, 19 from CPSC, 36 from NHTSA and 4 from USDA FSIS.

That total is down 17% from October 2024 (545), and down 24% from November 2023 (601).

Medical devices made up the largest share (278, 61%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were foreign material (metal, plastic, glass) (78), contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (65) and listeria (34).

Of the 409 recalls our plain-English summaries have rated so far, 67 (16%) were rated “stop using now”.

AVID Medical had the most records (73). FDA files one record per product, so one recall event can account for many of these.
