Summary

In September 2025 U.S. agencies published 471 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 404 from FDA, 20 from CPSC, 42 from NHTSA and 5 from USDA FSIS.

That total is down 3% from August 2025 (485), and down 29% from September 2024 (663).

Medical devices made up the largest share (248, 53%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were labeling, dosing or quality defects (106), contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (70) and device or part malfunction (45).
