Summary

In July 2025 U.S. agencies published 615 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 519 from FDA, 43 from CPSC, 46 from NHTSA and 7 from USDA FSIS.

That total is up 27% from June 2025 (483), and up 22% from July 2024 (505).

Food made up the largest share (273, 44%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (116), salmonella (100) and undeclared allergens (61).

Of the 531 recalls our plain-English summaries have rated so far, 77 (15%) were rated “stop using now”.

Harris Teeter had the most records (83). FDA files one record per product, so one recall event can account for many of these.

Among vehicles, BMW had the most NHTSA recall campaigns (3).
