Summary

In March 2026 U.S. agencies published 364 recall records that GovInfoNow tracks: 286 from FDA, 29 from CPSC, 44 from NHTSA and 5 from USDA FSIS.

That total is down 29% from February 2026 (516), and down 13% from March 2025 (416).

Medical devices made up the largest share (151, 41%).

Sorting each record by the reason the agency gave, the most common hazards were contamination, sterility or manufacturing (CGMP) (54), labeling, dosing or quality defects (45) and device or part malfunction (36).

Of the 295 recalls our plain-English summaries have rated so far, 42 (14%) were rated “stop using now”.

Olympus had the most records (27). FDA files one record per product, so one recall event can account for many of these.
