My rear spoiler roof area leaks. This is something GM knows about and has sent out memos to dealers. To fix this itâs around $1000. I think GM should fix a problem they have been well aware of for sometime.
The gauge cluster flickers and goes blank completely while driving, over head windshield screen display still works, and throws an - Accretion speed limited- message. Truck has electronics software issues, climate control flickers, works sometimes, most times doesnât, loose electrical connections. Over all the gmc truck is a major software glitch and GMC does not want to take accountability for there lemon product which is very costly in repairs. Gmc service is not great and the warranty period of 36,000 miles is not justifiable. My truck has 68,000 all highway miles, not city miles. 2024 gmc Denali top in its class, and still has more issues than my 2007 gmc Sierra
Truck was in motion and the engine light started blinking then stopped. A couple miles down the road the truck jilted and the engine light came on again. The Service ESC and emergency parking brake light came on. The truck started shaking. We pulled over and parked. Turn off the truck and when we turned it back on it started shaking. When we drove we started hearing popping, knocking, loss in power of the vehicle. This couldâve caused serious damage to ourselves or other drivers if we couldâve have stopped. Vehicle is being inspected. Multiple same vehicles have had the same issues in my town. At least 5 that we know of. At one point all of the lights came on and now there is just a few …
While driving down interstate noticed drop in oil pressure and immediately a noise in engine with loss of power. immediately took it to dealership and they diagnosed rod bearing failure. Gm refuses to pay for engine.
Truck has been making a ticking noise for about the last four months. Yesterday, October 7, 2026 I stepped on the accelerator the engine paused a second and blew out gray smoke through my exhaust I saw in my rearview mirror. There is a delay in power from the time I put my foot on the accelerator when it actually gets moving faster.
I have a 2022 GMC Sierra that has a black grill and the same thing happened to me that follows this safety recall; N242490120. I was driving on the highway and the same piece snapped off and went right over my head and a car behind me ran over it and they had to pull over.
The contact owns a 2026 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated that while driving 2 MPH, the steering wheel failed to function as intended. The contact stated that while making a right turn, the vehicle hesitated. The dealer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was operating as designed. The contact stated that the failure was not present when the vehicle was purchased. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
Engine had catastrophic failure at only 1,433 miles driven. Incident happened on the interstate and truck was required to be towed to the dealer. Dealer said engine replacement is necessary.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
This preliminary PI was created to advise techniians in the field that they will not be able to perform a GDS automated bleed with the scan tool dues to a issue with the software in the scan tool
This preliminary information is to help technicians decide if the DTC needs to be diagnosed if relating to the concern and if it is not, the DTC can be ignored.
Certain vehicles may have an Ownerâs Manual that contains incorrect information regarding the vehicleâs tires. Vehicle owners will be mailed an insert to include in their Ownerâs Manual. For vehicles in dealer inventory, dealers will install the insert.
This preliminary information is for technicians that may see DTCs that are history and should not perform any part replacements. They should follow the notes mentioned prior to anything being replaced.
This Preliminary information communicates to dealers a procedure to reset the radio.
This Preliminary information communicates an issue with the virtual garage door opener not programming to a garage opener. Engineering is working on a new module.
This PI was created to help address the correct repair regarding a low coolant message on the DIC

This PI provides Diagnostics tips on how the LIN bus works and how to diagnosis it.
General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Recall. Certain vehicles may have a condition which can cause the fuel pump power control module to fail. If this were to occur, fuel flow to the engine could be interrupted. Dealers will replace the fuel pump power control module.
This preliminary information communicates an issue with a service column lock message and DTC U3000. Engineering is working on the issue and in the meantime dealerships are to reset/clear the DTC and perform four sleep cycles to verify the DTC does not return.
This PI communicates the proper part numbers for transmission connectors and internal harness to prevent confusion when ordering
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On January 16, 2026, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query RQ26001. This investigation was opened to assess the remedy effectiveness of Recall 25V-274. ODI has received complaints alleging engine failure in vehicles after the recall remedy had been completed, whether that remedy involved an oil viscosity change or a complete engine replacement. General Motors (GM) issued Recall 25V-274 to address concerns of engine failure in the L87 engines produced between March 1, 20
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 1,157 reports of engine bearing failure failures in the L87 6.2L engine produced by General Motors (GM). Of the 1,157 reports received, 173 are outside of the scope of recall 25V-274. These engines are installed in Model Years (MY) 2019–2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and 2021-2024MY Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV vehicles. From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

On January 16, 2025, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE25001 after receiving complaints and field reports concerning engine failures in MY2019-2024 GM’s full-size truck and SUV T1XX platform equipped with the L87 6.2L V8 engine. These complainants alleged engine bearing failures resulting in knocking and growling noises from the engine’s bottom end and in some cases more severe consequences such as broken connecting rods leading to engine damage, or en
NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-spe
On April 9, 2021, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened PE21-010 to investigate instances of air bag malfunction indicator light (MIL) illumination and potential for frontal air bag non-deployment in several vehicles manufactured by General Motors (GM). Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: engine, power train, electrical system. 8,242 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
