The vehicle systems named most often in Land Rover Range Rover complaints (one complaint can name several).
In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
My vehicle is currently subject to NHTSA recall # 26V-248. Then I started getting a check engine light with codes P0A1F-96 and P0A7B which are directly related to the recall. I took the vehicle to a Land Rover dealership and was told they are unrelated. My vehicle has only 46,000 miles on it and I was told I needed a new MHEV lithium Ion battery and that I would have to pay for it out of pocket. These batteries should last well over 100K miles if not for the direct problems caused by the recall. Having to pay for this out of pocket rather than the dealership covering it seems completely unfair.
On August 22, 2026 while driving my 2024 Range Rover Evoque, both passenger side tires suddenly blew out without any prior warning. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) failed to alert me at any point that tire pressure was low. I did not hit any road hazard or curb. The tires simply failed without warning. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had a documented history of electrical malfunctions including randomly dying and locking me out. The vehicle was serviced at Land Rover of Darien approximately 4 months before this incident and the battery was replaced at that time. My insurance claim was denied as the adjuster could not determine why the tires failed and indicated the cause may…
On XXX at approximately 17,900 miles, a tire on my 2020 Range Rover Velar exploded suddenly while my wife was driving on the highway at approximately 50 mph. The blowout displaced the axle. The vehicle was brought to a stop without a collision, and no injuries occurred. The vehicle was towed to Galpin Jaguar Land Rover in [XXX], where the tire was replaced and the axle and wheels were realigned. The vehicle was purchased as a Land Rover Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in April 2024. A separate complaint (XXX) was filed for a Telematics Control Unit failure on this vehicle in August 2026. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Jaguar Land Rover Dallas is actively retaliating against a safety recall complaint. They are refusing a workmanship review and have issued a predatory $10,000 quote to replace the exact suspension components their technicians completely disassembled four days ago.
they have failed to come up with a fix for this and am concerned that I will be stuck somewhere on the side of the road, or could be passing someone if this happens and the car will lose power while I am passing someone. this recall needs a fix for this car. I checked with the dealer the week of 9-20-26 and Land Rover still does not have a fix which is completely unacceptable
I purchased this car a week ago, and the engine made a loud noise and shut down in the middle of the roadway, almost caused a rear end collision. I pulled to the side of the road and all the oil was running out of the engine. The mechanic said the plastic timing chain in that model is common to fail, and in my case destroyed the engine block, $24,000 to repair a $16,000 car is insane. This is apparently a know issue with this vehicle and nothing is being done about it.
2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Repair Order/Invoice No.: XXX NHTSA Recall No.: 26V248 Land Rover Recall No.: D126/H575 I received a Land Rover safety-recall notification in June 2026 concerning the DC/DC converter on my vehicle. The recall is identified by NHTSA as 26V248 and by Land Rover as D126/H575. The subsequent failure of my vehicle involved the exact component identified in the recall. On or about XXX, my vehicle experienced a charging-system fault and would not start. I brought the vehicle to Jaguar Land Rover Van Nuys/[XXX]. The dealer's own repair documentation states: "DC / DC converter internal failure." The dealer further documented that the charging system was …
The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed and was associated with an unrepaired recall. The contact was advised not to drive the vehicle. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System); however, the part was not available for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 101,500.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Inadequate penetration of welding between the cells, the batteryâs capacity and therefore the vehicleâs electric range may be depleted below the design intent

Vehicles on display e.g. in a showroom whilst being supported by a showroom 12v support unit, these vehicles require an additional fuse to be removed to prevent the MHEV (48v) battery draining and causing the cells to drop to a non recoverable level. Failure to follow this process will void the warranty cover on this battery.
Fuel Vapor Smell in Passenger Compartment
A quality concern has been identified where there may be a missing fixing on the Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) battery harness which is away from design specification.
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated on the instrument cluster. The root cause of the symptoms is the catalytic converter over temperature.
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may illuminate if the vehicle is refueled within 15 seconds of turning the engine off.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) is upgrading its Preliminary Evaluation (PE25006) of front steering knuckle fractures on model year (MY) 2014 through 2017 Range Rover Sport vehicles to an Engineering Analysis. ODI opened PE25006 on June 27, 2025, after receiving 12 Vehicle Owner's Questionnaire (VOQ) reports of the front aluminum steering knuckles fracturing in these vehicles. The reports describe the fractures occurring at the joint where the steering knuckle attaches to the upper c
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: engine, electrical system, unknown or other. 1,551 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
