What Land Rover Range Rover Sport owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Land Rover Range Rover Sport safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
My vehicle is currently subject to NHTSA recall # 26V-248. Then I started getting a check engine light with codes P0A1F-96 and P0A7B which are directly related to the recall. I took the vehicle to a Land Rover dealership and was told they are unrelated. My vehicle has only 46,000 miles on it and I was told I needed a new MHEV lithium Ion battery and that I would have to pay for it out of pocket. These batteries should last well over 100K miles if not for the direct problems caused by the recall. Having to pay for this out of pocket rather than the dealership covering it seems completely unfair.
Jaguar Land Rover Dallas is actively retaliating against a safety recall complaint. They are refusing a workmanship review and have issued a predatory $10,000 quote to replace the exact suspension components their technicians completely disassembled four days ago.
they have failed to come up with a fix for this and am concerned that I will be stuck somewhere on the side of the road, or could be passing someone if this happens and the car will lose power while I am passing someone. this recall needs a fix for this car. I checked with the dealer the week of 9-20-26 and Land Rover still does not have a fix which is completely unacceptable
I purchased this car a week ago, and the engine made a loud noise and shut down in the middle of the roadway, almost caused a rear end collision. I pulled to the side of the road and all the oil was running out of the engine. The mechanic said the plastic timing chain in that model is common to fail, and in my case destroyed the engine block, $24,000 to repair a $16,000 car is insane. This is apparently a know issue with this vehicle and nothing is being done about it.
2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Repair Order/Invoice No.: XXX NHTSA Recall No.: 26V248 Land Rover Recall No.: D126/H575 I received a Land Rover safety-recall notification in June 2026 concerning the DC/DC converter on my vehicle. The recall is identified by NHTSA as 26V248 and by Land Rover as D126/H575. The subsequent failure of my vehicle involved the exact component identified in the recall. On or about XXX, my vehicle experienced a charging-system fault and would not start. I brought the vehicle to Jaguar Land Rover Van Nuys/[XXX]. The dealer's own repair documentation states: "DC / DC converter internal failure." The dealer further documented that the charging system was …
My 2020 Range Rover Sport suffered a critical Red Suspension Failure causing the vehicle to rock uncontrollably while driving, forcing me to tow it.
The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Hybrid. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the message âAdd Coolantâ was displayed. After adding coolant to the coolant reservoir, the message remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a service center, where it was diagnosed and determined that coolant was leaking from the pipes and elbows. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be repaired. The mechanic associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V221000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by telephone and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 9…
The car experienced a complete electrical failure. Exactly like the recall D126 warns about. This engineering fix is taking too long. They should simply replace the DC/DC converter. I was stuck in the middle of the intersection and had to have my car towed, battery replaced. They are slow playing this problem to avoid having to pay for repairs.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Vehicles on display e.g. in a showroom whilst being supported by a showroom 12v support unit, these vehicles require an additional fuse to be removed to prevent the MHEV (48v) battery draining and causing the cells to drop to a non recoverable level. Failure to follow this process will void the warranty cover on this battery.

A quality concern has been identified where there may be a missing fixing on the Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) battery harness which is away from design specification.
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated on the instrument cluster. The root cause of the symptoms is the catalytic converter over temperature.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) is upgrading its Preliminary Evaluation (PE25006) of front steering knuckle fractures on model year (MY) 2014 through 2017 Range Rover Sport vehicles to an Engineering Analysis. ODI opened PE25006 on June 27, 2025, after receiving 12 Vehicle Owner's Questionnaire (VOQ) reports of the front aluminum steering knuckles fracturing in these vehicles. The reports describe the fractures occurring at the joint where the steering knuckle attaches to the upper c
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-spe
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE20-018 on November 5th, 2020, to investigate fuel leak allegations in vehicles equipped with fuel tank outlet flange Part Number AH229039AB. ODI based the investigation on six consumer complaints it had received and, using information gathered from RQ19-004, five field reports and 200 warranty claims in the subject vehicles. At the closing date of PE20-018, the number of related complaints received by ODI has risen to fifteen. In response to an
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) analyzed complaints received from the public and complaint data submitted by Jaguar Land Rover North America (JLR) in response to the Information Request (IR) letter for PE20-007. ODI identified a total of 132 non-duplicative reports alleging incidents in which the spoiler cover detached from the certain Range Rover vehicles while in motion, including 3 resulting in broken windshields, 6 involving detached spoilers striking trailing vehicles with damage

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: engine, electrical system, steering. 587 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
