This last Monday, September 28, the Active head restraint in headrest broke/blew out and exploded into my head while driving on street (no collision, pothole, bump or jarring) causing pain, panic, and avoidance maneuver. Worried it will happen again possibly to someone else in passenger seat, and I am afraid to drive the car. Apparently there is an active 10 year extended warranty out for this issue, but the car may not be in that 10 year window. Still need to check with dealer, and has not been inspected except by us, but have serious doubts about their helping. This is a serious problem and should be a safety recall and replaced for free immediately. No warning lamps or messages before…
The radio is delaminating. This is a common complaint for jeep. They need to fix this problem
The engine / power cuts off with no warning causing steering to lock up to left & brakes lock up causing the vehicle to veer to the left and unable to use brake to stop vehicle. Happens randomly while driving which makes it unsafe to operate to drive.
I am filing this complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and safety recall 89D (NHTSA Campaign 26V562000). My vehicle is currently experiencing abnormal driving behavior that has caused me to have a legitimate safety concern regarding the vehicleâs suspension. The vehicle does not drive normally, and I am concerned that the condition may be related to the component addressed by recall 89D. I have contacted both the dealership and the manufacturerâs recall/customer assistance department multiple times seeking to have the vehicle properly diagnosed and to determine whether it is safe to operate while the recall remedy remains unavailable. Initially, I was advised that I could ta…
The driverâs seatbelt sensor constantly goes off as not detecting that the seatbelt is buckled, while driving; this causes the alarm to continuously beep and also disables the airbag. Aside from the seatbelt issue, there is a standalone airbag issue that has been detected by the carâs health report multiple times. The drive shaft is also defective, causing the car to shake when the car hits 73 mph. The auto stop/start also disables on its own. I have taken it to the dealership to get all of this fixed but all issues have persisted. There are active recalls on these issues for other 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokees but they are not attached to my vehicle even though my vehicle has the same recal…
I was driving on the highway when the sunroof on my JGC exploded. I checked for a debris, ie rock, stick, inside the cabin and found none. There was no other damage to the auto other than the sunroof.
OnXXX at approximately 915 am I was making a LEFT hand turn across 3 lanes of 422, when the vehicle appeared to have a serious electrical failure and complete shut down as nothing on the vehicle was working and I was unable to immediately exit the vehicle. I was about 3 ft out into the intersection facing oncoming traffic going the opposite direction. The vehicle was towed to Preston Dodge/Jeep in New Castle PA. On Sept 16th I received a text message stating the problem had been fixed, the problem being "the positive terminal not being fully seated thus creating a powering down situation." I picked the vehicle up, and another significant electrical incident occurred at 3am on XXX while drivi…

From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, power train. 12,094 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
