What Jeep Gladiator owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Jeep Gladiator safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
While I was driving home with 2 of my boys, the instrument cluster malfunctioned and went completely blank while driving. I had a mechanic check the vehicle and the fuses were/are working fine. He stated that he found issues online about Jeep Gladiators from this model year having issues with the instrument cluster suddenly going blank due to a parts issue. There is an active recall for this issue, but my truck is not included. When I called Jeep Customer Care, I was told that NHTSA was responsible for which VIN #'s were included. They also facetiously stated that if I had any issues with that I should reach out to the NHTSA, so I did. I spoke with a helpful NHTSA agent that stated it was th…
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that two years ago the vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); to prevent the clutch from overheating. However, the failure started after the vehicle was repaired under the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving, there was smoke coming from under the hood. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer was unable to perform the inspection or confirm the failure due to the age and mileage on the vehicle. The contact stated that the software update included a transmission kill sw…
Experiencing death wobble at over 50 mph. Very dangerous on a roadway where you are required to go over that speed. Brought to shop, explained steering dampener is leaking and driver side tie rod is loose causing vibration at higher rates of speed.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle went into the death wobble. During the failure, the front end of the vehicle was shaking and vibrating severely, and the steering wheel was difficult to control. The four tires were replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that front drag links and steering dampeners needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 35,000.
The DPF system has failed upon numerous occasions. This model is a 2022 they only made these diesels for 3 years in the gladiator and discontinued them I assume for reasons stated above. The issues is not resolved and continues to happen. It should have a recall and the government put these standards on these vehicles and should be responsible for removing the dpf system and deleting the problem it restricts the engine not allowing it to run smoothly.
Emergency brake not working properly consistently, loosens, has been repaired, replaced, still fails, loosens. Have had 2 accidents related to this, leg was run over. Second time rolled into tree almost 12000 dollars in damage, issues just about since purchase, saw multiple dealers, issue continues
I believe it is the blend door actuator, the heat when on defrost automatically switched between hot to ice cold which fogs up windows and causes other issues. Brought the vehicle in for for the current recall along with service on this, and this was not looked at. When the temp changes the A/C is turned off and temp is turned up to clear the window. It starts blowing ice cold air that fogs up the window almost instantly
Instrument Panel Failure. The center LCD screen that displays speed, tachometer, oil temp, coolant temp, oil pressure, battery voltage, and transmission temps, fuel gauge, tire pressure readings, warning messages, and many other things just stopped working. This is obviously a safety risk and can cause an increased risk to safety and crashes, as it has been recalled on many other Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers. This screen started out working upon purchase, but would often have a digital background that would show up. The dealership it was purchased from informed us there was nothing wrong with the screen. It just stopped working and there is nothing on the display.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2019–2027, owners most often name: steering, electrical system, power train. 992 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
