Several (more than 5) times over the past 2 months my car has had the same issue occur. The automatic Idle Stop feature was turned on and the engine was idling at a stop sign or red light. When I went to press on the gas to begin driving again, my engine would not restart and I received an error message. I was unable to change gears and had to manually turn off my engine, wait a few seconds and restart the engine, and then put back into drive. Again, this has happened several times over the past couple months. My safety was at risk because I was at risk of beging in an accident if the car behind me started to drive when the light turned green, not realizing I was stuck with an engine in idle…
The entire Honda Sensing driver-assist safety suite has failures that shows on the dash all at the same time. All at once non of the safety features work which is extremely dangerous while driving. The component in question is the front sensor camera located behind the rear view mirror mounted on the front windshield. This sensor camera is the core optical component for the entire driver assist safety suite.
When stopped in a lane of travel, the vehicle's Auto Idle Stop system engages. However, when I take my foot off of the brake to begin moving forward, the vehicle stalls while in the lane of travel. I have to turn the vehicle off and back on again to begin moving.
-multiple messages/lights on dashboard determined by dealer to be due to forward looking camera, which disables Hondas Sensing safety suite. Available for inspection upon request. -safety of myself/family and others put at risk due to distracting messages/lights on dashboard, which can also conceal additional issues not associated with forward camera. Safety features are disabled when the camera does not work properly, specifically lane assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation , road departure mitigation, auto high beams. -problem has been confirmed by dealer: DTC U3000-49 -yes, inspected by manufacturer/dealership -issue appeared randomly approximately a month ago with no oth…
The infotainment screen will go blank and will no longer show the backup camera at all. The FAKRA recall was performed at the Honda dealership when I first purchased the car new. I did not have any significant issues until around July of 2026. First, the speakers will crackle with static noise, then the volume cuts off completely, then the screen goes black and message pops up "Network Communication Lost, MOST Net Off". Then the screen will completely go blank and the backup camera will not turn on when in reverse. For the past two weeks the screen/radio/backup camera does not turn on at all. Completely black screen the entire time while driving, even with repeated power cycles. This is obvi…
Forward facing multipurpose camera has failed triggering multiple warning lights. This occurred right after the last recall for the van was completed which replaced the rear camera.
Idle Stop system - NHTSA EA 25004 My 2025 Odyssey fails its auto-restart from a stoplight, stumbles, and then has a very rough secondary start.
The vehicle came to a complete stop at a stoplight at a busy intersection and the Auto Idle Stop feature engaged. When the brake was released to resume driving, the engine struggled to restart, and then stalled completely in the middle of traffic. The vehicle did not automatically restart upon releasing the brake, and had to be placed into park, turned off completely, and then restarted manually to regain vehicle control. This has happened several times. There have also been instances where the vehicle did not stall completely, but bucked violently when the Auto Idle Stop feature restarted the vehicle.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, forward collision avoidance, engine. 5,126 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
