My car would not start so I had it towed to the Ford Dealership where I bought the car - The car would not start even though the battery had power - it also had a burning wire smell which is consistent with the recall The dealer has not looked at the car since it was towed to them on 9/3/26
Vehicle Information: 2022 Ford Mustang Date of Incident: XXX Description of Safety Defect & Crash: On XXX, this vehicle suffered a catastrophic concurrent failure of the electronic throttle control and steering systems, resulting in a violent injury crash. Prior to the incident, the vehicle was completely disabled due to electronic throttle errors, requiring us to rent a U-Haul tow dolly to physically haul the vehicle to Apple Ford in [XXX]. The dealership replaced the throttle body assembly to address a wrench/check engine light and airflow codes (DTC P050A). Exactly 30 minutes after picking up the vehicle from the dealership, while driving home at normal speed limits, the vehicle suffered …
A new Walmart-brand EverStart Plus 96R, 590 CCA automotive battery was purchased on August 4, 2026, and installed in a 2016 Ford Mustang Convertible. On the evening of September 26, 2026, my family and I drove the Mustang and returned home at approximately 11:00 p.m. The vehicle operated normally. There were no warning signs, electrical problems, overheating, or other indications of a mechanical problem. The Mustang remained parked and untouched overnight. At approximately 2:00 p.m., 15 hours later, on September 27, my daughter came into the room and told me that the car was on fire. Riverside County Fire responded to the scene. Fire personnel specifically asked whether the Mustang had be…
The contact owns a 2025 Ford Mustang. While the contactâs daughter was driving 20 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power. The check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and was restarted to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V547000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The failure mileage was 21,000.
My vehicle dash displayed "vehicle not in park" multiple times immediately after I put it in the drive position. At times I could push the "ok" prompt and proceed to drive but when I slowed or. stopped at intersections it would occur again and sometimes it applied the park brake without any action on my part. Around the same time I started getting "door module fault" or "door lock fault" warnings. It's been at a dealer over a month so I don't recall the exact wording now. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined the door module fault made the vehicle think it was moving with the door open and replaced it. After the repair they're now saying it's unsafe to operate because while in thei…
I own a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Standard Range RWD. My vehicle has experienced a high-voltage powertrain malfunction involving the high-voltage battery system/HV Battery Junction Box (HVBJB). The vehicle is currently at a Ford dealership for diagnosis and repair. What concerns me is that the same high-voltage/powertrain warning appeared on my vehicle previously, before the vehicle reached 100,000 miles. The warning appeared in my FordPass history, then went away. The vehicle later developed the same type of warning again, and the problem has now resulted in a current high-voltage powertrain malfunction. My vehicle is not included in the existing HVBJB recall (23S56) based on its VIN/build c…
2024 Ford Mustang has shown severe defects since September of 2025. Vehicle has been in and out of shop every month since first incident of vehicle going completely dead without cause or warning. Vehicle has since produced escalating engine misfires, loss of acceleration while driving on highway, and occasional antifreeze seeping through a/c vents on startup. Dash has started to glitch upon startup as well and fuel economy has dropped 7mpg in one month. Every Ford dealership I have went to for repairs, except for Town and Country Ford, has told me, "there's no issue with your vehicle". After a year of issues that are getting worse, and trying to receive answers from my Ford case manager, I w…
My 2021 Mustang MachE experienced a failure of the relay which connects its high-voltage battery to the rest of the car. The car is an EV, and the result of this is that the drive-motor had no power, and the car would not move. I would like to ask, please, that all model years with this known-issue (HVBJB - high voltage battery junction box) be recalled.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 25-Jun-2023, 2022-2025 E-Transit and 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience a high voltage battery stop charging condition when using a direct current (DC) fast charger level 3 with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0EEE:27 and P2E53:27 stored in the on-board diagnostic control module A (SOBDM). This may be due to the SOBDM software. Replacement of the charge port will not resolve this concern. Inform customers that their vehicles can still be charged using a level 1 or level 2 alternating current (AC) charger. Engineering is
Some 2025-2026 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.0L or 2.3L engine and built on 15-Aug-2025 and through 01-Dec-2025 may exhibit various drivability symptoms and/or have diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) related to throttle/pedal position circuits. From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: air bags, power train, electrical system. 4,261 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
