Accelerated Care Plus is recalling Omnisound Gel (250 ml bottles and 5L containers) and EcoGel 200 (250 ml bottles) because they may contain bacteria. This could lead to infections if used in ultrasound procedures.
The ultrasound gels may contain harmful bacteria that can cause infections when used during medical procedures. FDA issued a warning in August 2021 that these products pose a bacterial contamination risk.
Healthcare providers using these ultrasound gels for medical procedures are affected. Patients receiving treatments with these products are at risk of infection.
