What to do
Consumers should contact Starmatrix to request a free repair kit. In the interim, consumers should ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended or, alternatively, drain the pool until the repair can be installed.
The hazard
The compression strap surrounding the outside of the pool legs may create a foothold, allowing a child access to the pool and posing a drowning risk. Children can still gain access to the pools using these footholds even if the ladder is removed. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Context
GovInfoNow's records show that Blue Wave Pools and SereneLife Home Pools were recalled on Dec. 18, 2025, for drowning risks associated with footholds in pools 48 inches and taller. Other recent recalls of similar products include Evajoy Above-Ground Pool Recall (Feb. 26, 2026) due to a drowning hazard from compression straps.
