The contact owns a 2018 Winnebago Vista. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V826000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages, Structure); however, when the local dealer was contacted, the contact was informed that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. White driving the vehicle, the passengers side hood latch bracket (what the hood latch hooks onto to keep the hood closed) fell off the vehicle and was lost, preventing the passenger's side of the hook from latching and leaving it to flap in the breeze. At a later time, I noticed the driver's side bracket starting to fall off in the same manner, but was luckily able to notice it while stopped and prevent it from falling onto the roadway. No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
