IN ADDITION TO THE PROPANE HOSE RECALL, WINNEBAGO SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING AT THE SAME TIME ABOUT THE SYSTEMIC FAILURE OF THE LPG REGULATOR THAT IS INSTALLED IN THESE VEHICLES. REGULATOR FAILURE SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON AS EVIDENCED BY THE MANY COMPLAINTS SEEN ON THE VIA OWNERS YAHOO WEB SITE. MY REGULATOR FAILED ON THE VERY FIRST TRIP WE MADE IN OUR BRAND NEW 2015 VIA, CAUSING MUCH DISCOMFORT , INCONVENIENCE AND WORRY ABOUT OUR SAFETY DURING OUR FEB & MARCH 2016 WINTER TRIP IN ARIZONA, NEW MEXICO AND SEVERAL OTHER STATES. WE HAD NO WATER HEATER, NO FURNACE AND NO COOKING STOVE AND WERE FORCED TO CUT OUR TRIP SHORT AS NONE OF THE WINNEBAGO DEALERS WE CONTACTED AT THE TIME COULD WORK ON OUR …
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 94 APPROXIMATELY 23 AUGUST 2011, AND SURROUNDED BY SEMI TRUCK TRAFFIC I EXPERIENCED A RAPID DECELERATION OF MY VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE TRAFFIC WAS SO TIGHT, AND DUE TO THE RAPID DECELERATION RATE, I BARELY ESCAPED BEING HIT FROM THE REAR BY AN APPROACHING FULLY LOADED 53 FOOT SEMI TRAILER. I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE EGR VALVE THAT FAILED DUE TO WATER INTRUSION. THE ENGINE MANUFACTURER, MERCEDES BENZ, STATED THAT THE WINNEBAGO COMPANY USING THEIR SPRINTER CHASIS AND ENGINE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR A DESIGN DEFICIENCY THAT ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER UNDER THE HOOD AND DAMAGE THE EGR VALVE IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO CAUSE T…
UPDATE ON PRIOR COMPLAINT FOR 2011 REYO. PROBLEM NOT TURBO RESONATOR. WATER ENTERING ENGINE FROM AREA OF HOOD UNDER WINDSHIELD, SHORTING EGR AND FILLING AIR FILTER. AFTER 5 REPAIRS, FINALLY ADDRESSED WITH RUBBER GASKET FOR HOOD, AND METAL COVER FOR EGR. STILL GETTING WATER ON AIRFILTER AS HOOD NOT SNUG. WILL HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW WINNEBAGO VIA MOTOR HOME (BUILT ON A MERCEDES BENZ SPRINTER CHASSIS) IN AUGUST 2010. ON SHORT TRIPS (10 TO 20 MILES) THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD TUM ON. ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THIS STARTED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND DID NOT TUM OFF. I CONTACTED A DEALER FOR REPAIR ADVICE AND WAS ASK TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. THE DEALER IS ABOUT 60 MILES AWAY; REQUIRING 195 INTERSTATE USE TO DRIVE THERE. THE VEHICLE DROVE CORRECTLY ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE DEALER UNTIL I SLOWED IN PREPARATION TO EXITING FREEWAY BY CHANGING LANES. THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" (AS I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER SERVICE WRITER). IT HAD NO POWER, SLOWED TO ABOUT 25 MPH AND…
TL* CONTACT OWNS A 2011 WINNEBAGO VIA RV. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 TO 20 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE REMAINING ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON A LATER DATE WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE WINDSHIELD AND INTO THE EGR VALVE GAS RECIRCULATION, PENETRATING THE ENGINE AND CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE EGR VALVE GAS RECIRCULATION AND WINDSHIELD BODY SEALANT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1, 400.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2019, owners most often name: engine and engine cooling, electrical system, engine. 6 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
