In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
the hood bracket glue failed and the hood bracket was detached. The vehicle was unsafe to drive but need to be moved from a gas station. More damage was done during the move. We have not had a dealer or inspector looking at the vehicle. There were no warning messages of the problem failure. This failure has been reported on other Winnebago Sightseers on other websites. There is a recall for the year 2014-2023 but not for the 2013 Winnebago as yet.
THE RAIN GUTTER'S ON BOTH SIDES DUMP RAIN WATER DOWN BOTH SIDE WINDOW'S PASSENGER AND DRIVER SO MUCH SO THAT THE VISIBILITY IS TOTALLY GONE. TO COMPOUND THE PROBLEM ANYTHING ON THE ROOF RUNS DOWN AND STICKS TO THE GLASS. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH JUST THIS MODEL IT SEEM TO BE COMMON WITH MOST WINNEBAGO CLASS "A'S"
DURING A STOP FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 30 MPH AND WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED TO AMBER, I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE SLIGHTLY HARDER THAN USUAL. WHEN THIS HAPPENED TWO OF THE LINES FROM THE ABS CONTROLLER TO THE WHEELS LEAKED AND BRAKE FLUID WAS SPRAYED ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM CREATING MUCH SMOKE. SINCE THERE WAS NO CROSS TRAFFIC A COLLISION WAS AVOIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FOR REPAIRS AND ALL OF THE HOSES FROM THE ABS CONTROLLER SHOW SIGNIFICANT SIGNS OF RUST. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND USED IN FLORIDA. IT HAS BEEN IN MICHIGAN FOR ONLY TWO YEARS AND HAS HAD MINIMAL EXPOSURE TO WINTER WEATHER AND SALT.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 WINNEBAGO SIGHTSEER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE STAIRS AT THE EXIT DOOR CAME OUT WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE GUARD RAIL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THROUGH AN ARIZONA TOWN AT 35 MPH THE LIGHT TURNED TO RED JUST WITHIN BREAKING DISTANCE. IN ORDER TO COME TO A STOP IN FRONT OF THE STOP LINE, I HAD TO BRAKE HARDER THAN USUAL. THIS CAUSED THE PASSENGER TO BE SLAMMED INTO THE SAFETY BELT AND INJURED. THE SAFETY BELT CAUSED SEVERE PRESSURE ON THROAT AND WIND PIPE. THE PASSENGER WAS 5 FOOT 3 INCHES. REASON FOR INCIDENT: THE UPPER FIXATION POINTS OF THE SAFETY BELTS IN THE WINNEBAGO SIGHTSEERS ARE VERY HIGH. FOR SHORTER PEOPLE THE SAFETY BELT WILL RUN ACROSS THE THROAT AND WINDPIPE OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER, RESPECTIVELY. HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS ARE NOT POSSIBLE. REQUEST FOR HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SAFETY BELT FIXATIO…
OUR 2012 WINNEBAGO SIGHTSEER 30A COMES EQUIPPED WITH A SINGLE PEDESTAL AIR-ASSISTED DINETTE TABLE. OUR ORIGINAL PEDESTAL BEGAN LOWERING BY ITSELF, AND BECOMING VERY DIFFICULT TO LIFT BACK TO TABLE LEVEL. WE FOUND IT HAD STARTED TO COMPLETELY LOWER WHILE DRIVING. THE ISSUE IS THAT THE 2 PASSENGER SEAT BELTS ARE LOCATED IN THE DINETTE, AND IF THE TABLE FALLS IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO THE PASSENGERS LEGS, OR COULD MAKE IT DIFFICULT, OR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY. THE PEDESTAL COMES WITH 2 PRESSURE CLAMPS, BUT NOTHING THAT WOULD LOCK THE TABLE IN PLACE SECURELY, SUCH AS A PIN. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE PEDESTAL UNDER WARRANTY WITH THE SAME PART. AS WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PICK UP…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation based on a Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) which reported an injury related to the unintentional deployment of the electric entry step on a subject vehicle. The owner reported to Winnebago that the steps extended while in motion. Service personnel from Winnebago instructed the owner to disconnect the wire harness at the steps to prevent them from extending while traveling and then reconnect when needed. The owner did this and was

No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
