Window is loosened at Lippert Metallarte entry door. VIN has not been included in recall under 24V824000
The plexiglass window on our house door for the Winnebago became dislodged while driving. According to other owners this is a widespread problem and Wimmebago is not recalling this part or offering to fix it.
Coach door plexiglass came loose and was flapping on the highway. It was removed and reglued with acrylic (?) glue by a glass shop. That later failed and the plexiglass fully detatched and fell out on a short trip. I was unable to relocate it. Safety glass was then made to fit and again glued, which has now held for over a year. I am the 2nd owner of the vehicle. The plexiglass window was original to the RV.
2020 Winnebago Navion RV coach door window (Lippert/Metalarte) became partially detached. Adhesive failed on upper edge and 1/3 of the length posing a safety hazard had the window completely detached. The plexiglass panel was removed and re-attached by an automotive window service provider. Window integrity continues today.
When parked with engine still running, we inadvertently turned on A/C to high. Within a minute we smelled an electrical fire and disconnected the battery. We had it towed to Mercedes Benz. They disassembled the floor board on the drivers side and found all the wiring melted. Mercedes claimed it was Winnebago wiring that caused the problem ( The metal plates that cover the wiring arced and melted the wiring ). We then had it towed to our storage unit where the Progressive Insurance adjustor inspected the damage and denied the claim stating it was Winnebago that caused the problem. He agreed with Mercedes that it was Winnebago's problem. Towed to Winnebago service center and they said it was …
The bracket which attaches the awning to the roof of the RV Is separating from the roof. The mounting screws are pulling out of the roof. I intend to bring it to the dealer for repair. There was no warning that this situation was occurring. I was inspecting the awning due to a different awning recall issue and found this condition. If it had gone undetected, it would have eventually separated from the roof and could have caused major damage to my vehicle or other vehicles on the highway.
In December 2021, we experienced a failure of the RV Mercedes Sprinter to start. After calling a mobile technician out, and upon research of similar events, it was determined that the Electronic Ignition System had failed. We had the RV towed to Mercedes Service Center in Asheville, NC where the problem was confirmed. It appears that internal windshield condensation can drain into the dash and onto the EIS module resulting in corrosion and subsequent failure. We found a service bulletin (Reference XENTRY TIPS Topic # LI54.2-N-069524; attached) describing the issue and corrective actions. This bulletin is dated October 7, 2020. Mercedes Asheville repaired the damaged EIS module and insta…
Retractable awning (by Carefree) has continued problems opening and closing, which can occur while the vehicle is traveling on highways, causing a potential hazard to vehicle occupants and other vehicles on the road. This problem has had a recall by Winnebago with repairs, which we have had performed, but it has not solved the problem. Neither Winnebago nor Carefree has a good solution for the problem (continued recall repairs by many other Navion owners have also been unsuccessful)and will not assist with it. There are many documented cases of this on the View/Navion Motorhomes Facebook website.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

For certain Winnebago vehicles equipped with Winnebago Connect and a Xantrex Freedom XC PRO 2000 Inverter, a new inverter firmware update is available and must be completed to ensure proper charging operation. If the coach is connected to shore power and the firmware has not been updated, the inverter may prevent the coach from charging. Repair involves an update to the Inverterâs U1 and U3 Firmware.
On certain Winnebago vehicles, performing a hard reset of the Xantrex inverter may change the âBattery Typeâ setting. If this setting is incorrect, the batteries may not charge properly, which may result in reduced performance. This campaign will also update the Xantrex inverter to the latest firmware version.
Winnebago is implementing an improved sealant application process to enhance durability, long-term maintenance, and vehicle appearance. Moving forward, SikaLastomer®-714 will be used as the sealant for roof-mounted components, including roof vents, skylights, and TV antennas. This change eliminates the use of self-leveling sealant around roof components, providing a cleaner, more refined appearance while reducing concerns related to cracking or discoloration commonly associated with traditional sealants.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2012–2027, owners most often name: unknown or other, electrical system, equipment. 20 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
