What Victory Cross Country owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Victory Cross Country safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The contact owns a 2016 Victory Cross Country Tour Motorcycle. The contact stated that while riding approximately 35 MPH, the motorcycle experienced transmission failure, causing the motorcycle to abruptly stop in the middle of the roadway. The motorcycle was inoperable and was later towed to the local service center. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 55,000.
C-clip issue in transmission can cause failure of the transmission and cause the rear tire to lock up and cause a crash
C-clip issue in transmission can cause failure of the transmission and cause the rear tire to lock up and cause a crash
C clips in transmission popped out of place causing damage to transmission. This is a very well known design flaw and could lead to the transmission locking up causing a crash. It is a very expensive repair. I ended up replacing the entire engine with a lower mileage used engine, but this is likely only a temporary repair.
C clip fell out of transmission causing gears to crash together. Could have locked up rear tire but gears broke and wouldn't allow movement in 4th gear
Circlip/ C clip failure in transmission cause loud clacking when idle/ driving. Lean bike to left, no clack. Lean bike to right, clacking.
C-clip failure in transmission gearing, allowing the 2nd gear to shift on the shaft causing contact with other gears when vehicle is leaning in the curves of the road. First indication is clicking sound when bike leans. Causes wheel lockup and loss of control.
The contact owns a 2014 Victory CC Tour The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to stop the vehicle the rear brakes failed. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. The contact also noticed fire coming from under the catalytic converter, burning several unknown wires. The contact extinguished the fire. The motorcycle was towed back to the contact's residence. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact related the failure to the NHTSA Campaign V-17-02 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Victory has determined that some 2016-2017 106 ci motorcycles may set false-positive P0032 and P0038 trouble codes for the Oxygen Sensor heater circuit. Victory has developed an updated ECM calibration to improve the O2 heater circuit diagnostic threshold.
Victory Motorcycle has learned that a potential issue may exist in some 2010-2015 Victory Cross Country / Cross Roads / Magnum / Hard-Ball saddlebag lock assemblies. This Service Advisory has been released to communicate a process which enables dealers to assist customers and repair qualified motorcycles without requiring pre-authorization from Victory Motorcycle.

Victory engineering has determined that some Cross Country, Cross Country Tour, Cross Roads, Magnum and Hard Ball models may experience damage to the rear brake line. Motorcycles experiencing prolonged misfire conditions may produce increased catalytic converter temperatures causing the retention clip securing the rear brake line to melt. In extreme cases, the retention clip may melt onto the catalytic converter, and increasing the risk of brake line damage.
Victory has determined that some Victory Octane Motorcycles could develop a slow crank or no start situation due to a starter that was potentially manufactured with a defect. This Service Advisory has been released to communicate a process which enables dealers to assist customers and repair qualified motorcycles without requiring pre-authorization from Victory Motorcycles.
Victory engineering has determined that some 2017 Cross Country Tour models may experience poor audio quality or connectivity issues when playback is performed through a device connected via USB. Affected motorcycles were assembled using a longer USB harness, necessary to reach the lower fairing compartment found on Cross Country Tour models. This additional length creates resistance which may impact USB sound quality.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2017, owners most often name: engine, power train, structure. 77 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
