The front brakes have developed an issue. The brakes must be pumped twice in order to activate/apply pressure. Regular maintenance is always conducted at Redline Motorsports in Bismarck, ND. Pads have been replaced with brand new pads. Brakes have been bled multiple times. Fluid was replaced. Hoses and master cylinder were inspected. The problem resolves for 2-3 days after a bleed, but then returns. Again, all maintenance and repairs have been conducted at Redline Motorsports in Bismarck, ND.
Front brakes are spongy. I hear this is a common problem on these bikes but there is no recall out for them? I have even gone into a dealer to get a front brake bleed done, and the problem came back after a thousand miles or so. I even put high performance race fluid in thereâ¦. Feels unsafe to ride
Motorcycle brakes on the front require being double pumped in order to work properly. Vehicle has been in twice for the concern and the issue persists
While shifting from 2nd into 1st gear prior to entering a turn, the gear selector lifter shaft snapped off, resulting in the bike getting stuck in neutral. This is an extremely dangerous situation for a motorcyclist and I have never heard of this situation in my 20+ years of riding. I was very lucky this happened while only traveling ~15 mph.
front brakes of motorcycle act inconsistently. A "double pull" is required of the front brake lever. the first pull is much longer and mushier than subsequent pulls. After the first pull, the brakes act normally for some period of time, then the cycle repeats itself. It is unnerving to have inconsistent brakes.
My motorcycle has what I call a "double pull' front brake problem. When the brake lever for the front brake is pulled, I get a significant difference in lever pull. On the first pull the lever comes close to the handle bar. If I release the lever and pull it a second time, the lever pulls to a normal reach. I would add the brakes engage/bite much better and what would be expected for a high performance brake system from Brembo on the second lever pull. Having to pump the brakes is a safety concern to both the rider and those in traffic. I have taken the motorcycle to my local Triumph dealer while it was under warranty. They were not able to fix the problem. I also reached out to Triumph N…
This is a fairly well known issue for this year Triumphs, as well as other Makes/years, fitted with this type of Brembo brakes. The brakes have an inconsistent pressure issue during operation. The first pull of the brake is soft and "spongey" and takes multiple pulls to build pressure. Full bleeding of brake system, replacement of pads, etc. does not resolve the issue. this is obviously a huge safety concern as it does not allow the rider a clear and consistent braking operation, which can cause them to over/under apply the amount of necessary braking and pose a large risk to themselves as well as others on the road.
The contact owned a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the motorcycle did not stop immediately while the brake pedal was depressed, causing the motorcycle to crash into another vehicle. The contact suffered two fractured ankles and received medical attention. No police report was filed. The motorcycle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. Prior to the failure, the dealer was made aware that while driving, a grinding sound was coming from the motorcycle and a burning odor was detected. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA …

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation (PE21017) on July 9, 2021 for model year (MY) 2016-2019 Triumph Thruxton and Speed Triple model motorcycles based on allegations of loss of front braking performance. Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQ) indicated riders were experiencing a soft front brake lever that could result in an unexpected extended stopping distance. On July 28, 2021, ODI sent an Information Request letter to Triumph to learn more about the subject

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: service brakes, electrical system, exterior lighting. 19 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
