2018 Toyota Camry approx 126,000 miles. Transmission had always been rough-- previously jerking and was told by dealer technician that shocks needed to be replaced soon. While out of state and traveling in remote area, the car gave out. Was advised by out of state Toyota dealership technician that the transmission had blown and the inside of the mechanism had imploded and the car could not be moved at all. According to review of other consumer complaints Toyota was aware of the mechanical defect with transmission and related defective software but failed to disclose to the consumer. Toyota has failed to issue a recall.
The dashboard on my 2010 Toyota Camry has deteriorated and developed an extremely shiny, sticky, wet-looking surface. During normal daytime driving, sunlight reflects off the deteriorated dashboard and onto the windshield, creating significant glare that interferes with the driver's view of the roadway. The condition occurs routinely when driving in sunlight and is a visibility and safety concern, not merely a cosmetic issue. Toyota previously established a Customer Support Program for sticky/melting dashboards on affected vehicles. The vehicle was purchased new by my father and remained in our family, but he was unaware of the program while coverage was available. The vehicle is now being …

SUBJECT: Technical Dispute and Evidence Regarding EV Mode Restrictions and Drop in MPG / Toyota BEC Case #XXX VEHICLE: 2026 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid VIN: [XXX] Dear Service Manager (Longo Toyota), I am writing to formally follow up on the system restrictions and diagnostic anomalies that my 2026 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid has been presenting immediately following the safety recall software update (Campaign 26TA16). The vehicle is currently experiencing severe hybrid powertrain limitations: the Automatic EV Mode fails to engage at highway speeds, and the system consistently locks or drops the vehicle into a restricted speed of 35 mph in electric mode, accompanied by a distinct "heavy" driving feel.…
I own a 2016 Toyota Camry SE with the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. The vehicle currently has approximately 155,000 miles and is experiencing excessive engine oil consumption. The engine requires oil to be added approximately every 800â1,000 miles despite regular maintenance and the use of full-synthetic high-mileage motor oil. The spark plugs were also replaced approximately 20,000 miles ago. I am concerned that this level of oil consumption is excessive and could result in the engine operating with insufficient oil between normal service intervals, potentially causing engine damage or failure while the vehicle is being driven. I am aware that other owners of Toyota vehicles equipped with 2.…
When the headlight switch is set to AUTO, the vehicle consistently takes approximately 16 seconds to activate the headlights when entering a dark environment such as a tunnel or underpass. The dashboard illumination dims immediately, indicating the ambient light sensor detects the low-light condition, but the headlights do not activate for approximately 16 seconds. To illustrate the safety hazard: at 60 mph, a vehicle travels 1,760 feet â approximately one-third of a mile â in 16 seconds without headlights. At 55 mph, the vehicle travels approximately 1,613 feet in the same time. This is an unacceptable and dangerous safety risk to the driver and other motorists. In my experience with ve…
On September 6, my 2018 toryota camry just stoopped all of the suddden in the middle of a 6 lane road. No warning lights or such until that exact moment. The car went into safe moode as I was driving. The water pump and associated parts failed. The electrical part of the water pump went and took the pump, thermostat, gaskets, etc. to be repaired after just dying on the road. The car had only 32465 miles at the time of the breakage. The car is out of warranty, but with such low milage this is and unusual repair to be made on a car only8 years old with low milage. It was a $1700 dollar repair. The company has not made any assitance availble, i have called and spoke with someone, have written …

2026 model year Toyota vehicles are equipped with driver side floor mat retainers to secure the floor mat in the correct position. In addition, some models may also utilize retainers for passenger side and rear seat floor mats. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), follow the appropriate Installation Procedure to attach the driver side, and if applicable, the passenger side and rear seatfloor mats to the vehicle carpet using the floor mat retainers.
During the manufacturing process, tires are mounted on the vehicle as matched sets to help reduce conditions such as pulling or drifting. If the wheels are replaced or refinished before vehicle delivery, it is important that the tires remain on the vehicle in the same location and in the same direction of rotation.
A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and service life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life.
Long-term or off-site storage requires special care to maintain vehicle condition. The following guidelines should be performed to minimize vehicle component/part degradation due to extendedvehicle storage conditions. Long-term storage can affect a vehicleâs systems and components. Any problems that are found should be corrected immediately.
Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) is a critical step in satisfying our new car customers. Customer feedback indicates the following areas deserve special attention when performing PDS: ⢠Careful inspection for paint chips/scratches and body dents/dings. ⢠Proper operation of electrical accessories (including interior light, clock, and radio reset). ⢠Interior cleanliness. ⢠Proper function of mechanical systems. The PDS process helps identify potential vehicle concerns before customer delivery. After completing the PDS process, maintain accurate PDS records by ensuring the required documen

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: power train, unknown or other, vehicle speed control. 5,389 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
