The contact owns a 2015 Thor Palazzo. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the rear driverâs side window detached from the motorhome and hit the road. The contact stated that he continued driving to his destination. The motorhome was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
A bracket holding the front fiberglass cap or facia to the frame came loose and fell off on the interstate I-94 in Wisconsin, making a big clunk under our motorcoach causing several cars to swerve avoiding the metal bracket laying in the road. We had to pull over on the busy interstate to assess any damage to our coach. Luckily we came out unscathed. After looking into this further, I noticed that the screws holding the bracket on were broken off in the metal frame. I looked at the other bracket on the driver's side and the screws were broken off in the frame too and being held by one wood screw on the fiberglass facia. It seems that the wrong type of fasteners ate being used causing this f…
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I FOUND THE DOUBLE PANE WINDOW COMING APART. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY THE GLASS WOULD HAVE CAME OFF INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC OR HIT A CAR BEHIND ME. THE WINDOWS ARE MADE BY HERH WINDOWS. I BELIEVE ANOTHER COMPANY HAS BOUGHT THEM OUT NOW.*DT*JB
WE ARE VERY CONCERNED THE WINDOWS ON OUR 2016 PALAZZO WITH ONLY 12000 MILES ON IT HAS WINDOWS THAT ARE SEPARATING. THEY STARTED SEPARATING AT 8000. WE HAVE 5 WINDOWS THAT ARE SEPARATING AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN ARE HANGING OFF THE MOTOR HOME. IT WOULD BE DEVASTATING IF THEY FELL OFF AND HIT ANOTHER MOTOR VEHICLE OR MOTORCYCLE. *DT*JB
I HAVE NO REAR TAIL LIGHTS AND THE LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK. WHEN I ENTER MY VIN TO CHECK FOR RECALLS, IT SAYS INVALID PARAMETER. I TOOK IT TO FREIGHT LINER OF KC ON APRIL 18TH, 2019, THEY KEPT IT FOR 8 DAYS, SAID IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM, IT WAS THOR'S PROBLEM, AND REQUIRED THAT I PAY THEM A $524 DIAGNOSTIC FEE BEFORE I COULD GET THE VEHICLE BACK.
WE PURCHASED A 2017 THOR PALAZZO 36.1 MOTOR HOME IN JAN 2017. SAW THAT A TRIM RING WAS PUT ON THE FLOOR OF THE REAR BATH. WE ASSUMED THIS WAS FOR ACCESS TO THE REAR DIESEL ENGINE. WE DISCOVERED THAT ALTHOUGH THE TRIM RING WAS SCREWED DOWN NO ACCESS TO THE DIESEL ENGINE WAS CUT OUT. WHEN WE CALLED THOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WE WERE TOLD THE THOR PALAZZO MODEL DID NOT HAVE SPECS FOR AN ENGINE ACCESS PANEL. WE ASKED THEN WHY A TRIM RING INSTALLED? THEY DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS. FAST FORWARD TO FALL 2018 WE HAD A SMALL COMPRESSOR LEAK IN THE ENGINE SO TOOK TO FREIGHTLINER NW TO REPAIR. THEY SAID THE INTERIOR ENGINE ACCESS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CUT OUT AT THOR TO WORK ON ENGINE AND FOR SAFETY (FIR…
THE WOOD FLOORS IN THE CARGO BAYS OF MY CLASS 'A' MOTORHOME WERE NOT SEALED DURING MANUFACTURING, WHICH ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER THE BAYS AND ROTTING THE WOOD FLOORS. THIS RESULTED IN A HAZARDOUS CONDITION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHERE ITEMS, IN THE BAYS, COULD FALL UNDER THE TIRES OR JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF OTHER VEHICLES. THIS CONDITION HAS OCCURRED TWICE ON MY VEHICLE AND WAS REPAIRED ONCE BY THOR UNDER WARRANTY, BUT REOCCURRED LESS THAN SIX MONTHS LATER.
LOCKING MECHANISM ON ENTRY DOOR STUCK IN LOCKED POSITION. I HAD TO GO TO DEALER AND HAVE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OPEN THE DOOR. PASSENGERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT IN AN EMERGENCY. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
Technical service bulletins (TSBs)
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Federal defect investigations
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.

Questions
What are the most common Thor Palazzo problems?
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2015–2019, owners most often name: equipment, structure, unknown or other. 10 complaints are on record.
Is a complaint or a TSB the same as a recall?
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
How do I report a problem with my Thor Palazzo?
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
