The contact owns a 2017 Thor Motor Coach Venetian RV built on a 2017 Freightliner Chassis. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the bathroom vent window was suddenly ejected from the vehicle. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the adhesive securing the vent window to the RV had failed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 25,400.
More than 50% of the windows in this motor coach have either failed or are falling apart. One of the emergency egress windows blew completely out while traveling at high speed. The windows in question already have a safety recall, however this particular year for this motor coach is not included in the recall. Same bad windows, same part numbers, same manufacturer. SB RECALL 21V-52 2021-499 identifies these windows and calls out the same safety problem on the 2019 Thor Venetians as our 2018 Venetian. The issue is that Thor will not honor this safety recall because our is a 2018, not the 2019. Same safety problem though. We have 2 windows that failed completely, one considered a vent…
This will be the third frameless window that needs repaired. The adhesive comes loose from the window and they swing freely. While driving down the interstate the windows have come free from adhesive. Had to pull to side of road and tape down the window until we could get it repaired.
Recall notices 23V138 and 23V161 for our vehicle. We have never received notice for either one of these. The repairs have never been done. When I researched our VIN number it stated to notify NHTSA if manufacturer has failed to remedy.
The contact owns a 2016 Freightliner XCR RV. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the front passengerâs side window detached from the RV. The vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the rear window also detached and shattered while driving. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2011–2022, owners most often name: structure, visibility, electrical system. 5 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
