Overhead Cabinets above the driver and passenger seats above the front windshield have dropped down and bounces as we drive down the highway. Yes, it is available for inspection, I also have pictures. This started in 2019, the left side of the cabinets coming loose. We have tried unsuccessfully to fix the problem ourselves. After much research on the internet, I see where there was a RECALL 23v-121 & 2023-095 for Thor MC 2018-2021 Hurricane & Windsport. TMC recall # is RC000290. WE would like to be added to that recall and have our unit fixed properly before there is an accident. No one has inspected it yet, and no warning lights for failure.
Windows have detached from the vehicle while driving on two occasions. One was recovered on the shoulder of the highway, another quite large window was lost on the interstate and could have hit another vehicle. The Lippert windows are already the subject of a NHTSA safety recall (21V-522); however, even though the windows have experienced an adhesive failure and detached from the vehicle while driving, exactly as described in the recall, Lippert and Thor Motor Coach claim that this vehicle is not included in the recall by date of manufacture and specifically by VIN. Photos of the failures were provided to Lippert.
The contact owns a 2017 Thor Motor Coach Tuscany 45AT built on a 2017 Freightliner XC-R Chassis. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, two of the passenger's side windows detached and started flapping against the RV wall. The contact veered to the side of the road, and duct taped the windows to the side of the RV. The contact drove to the Camping lot; however, while the RV was parked, he heard an abnormal sound. The contact noticed that one of the windows that was duct taped had separated and fell onto the ground. The vehicle was taken a local dealer, where it was determined that the windows needed to be replaced. The RV was not repaired. The Freightliner manufacturer was notified of…
I was advised by my Cummins Service Center that the outer glass of double pane hung windows are at risk of falling out while driving. Evidently the glue bonding the two pieces of glass has failed. Itâs happening on multiple windows. Evidently this was addressed for some newer models. The windows are made by Hehr which I believe is now owned by Lippert Industries. I feel like this should be a mandatory recall due to its possibility of falling out or off, going airborne like a missile and causing an accident. I noticed this happening before but it wasnât until I was advised by a Cummins Coach Mechanic that it was as bad as it is.
The contact owns a 2020 Thor Tuscany RV built on a 2019 Freightliner chassis. The contact stated that while operating the RV, it was discovered that the front windshield wipers and cruise control were inoperable. The RV was taken to the local service center who diagnosed that the steering wheel control module was faulty and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 5,000. The contact stated that the required parts will not be available until some time at the end of 2023.
While traveling the outer skin of a lower compartment door folded off. This occurred in heavy traffic during a vicious windstorm. The repair costs just under $7000. During our first trip after the repair, the skin came off again-this time at a slow speed and with normal weather. On your website, there is a recall for the identical problem in the Thor line of motorcoaches but not the Tuscany. October 29, 2021, NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V845 which reads: "A door skin that separates during transit can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash." I am now looking at another replacement and have received an estimate of over $8000 (explained by inflation and shortage of repair technic…
The driver's side window became partially detached while driving on the highway at 60 mph. It threatened to completely detach and fall to the roadway. I was forced to pull over onto the shoulder of I-75 northbound in Florida and tape the window onto the body of the vehicle using Monster tape. The problem was confirmed and repaired at Suncoast Designers, 15050 Labor Place, Hudson FL. However, it occurred 2 more times and has (hopefully) been permanently re-attached this last time by using a different adhesive. This style window is referred to as "frameless". I have reason to suspect that there is a substantial low pressure or suction effect at that corner of the vehicle at highway speeds. Th…
On Sunday afternoon 20 June while traveling westbound on I-10 about 50 miles east of Ft. Stockton, TX, the passenger side rear slideout extended on its own. This slideout is about 2 feet deep so the width of my motor home suddenly changed from 8.5 feet wide to 10.5 feet wide. Fortunately there was little traffic on I-10 at this time. I was able to pull to the shoulder and used wood blocks in an effort to keep the slideout from extending. These blocks held until reaching Ft. Stockton where we were able to get off I-10 and into the first campground we came to. By this time the slideout had extended on its own again. I was able to get a truck mechanic to use cargo straps to strap this sli…

Certain motorhome chassis equipped with an adjustable brake pedal assembly may not be equipped with a return spring, which could lead to the brake pedal not promptly returning to the return position and causing the brake lights to stay illuminated. Additionally, in certain towed vehicles, the service brakes may also stay engaged, potentially leading to an increased risk of crash. This affects certain model year 2021-2022 Tuscany motorhomes

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On November 23, 2020, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE20021 to investigate allegations of inoperative Trimark THP 060-1650 door lock/latches originally equipped on model years (MY) 2015-2017 Class A and Class C motorhomes.ODI received forty-six Vehicle Owner’s Questionnaires (VOQs) describing consumers being locked in or out of their vehicles. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2022, owners most often name: structure, unknown or other, equipment. 23 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
