What Thor Motor Coach Scope owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Thor Motor Coach Scope safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

I am filing a complaint regarding manufacturer non-compliance and dealership refusal to execute safety Recall 59C (NHTSA Campaign 25V552) on my 2019-2021 Ram ProMaster (Thor Scope 18m Class B RV upfit). The authorized dealership is refusing to perform a non-destructive repair on the vehicle, demanding instead to dismantle the built-in RV living space/bathroom structure at unknown risk and liability to the owner. Over a month ago, the dealership attempted to circumvent federal recall regulations by pressuring me to accept the uninstalled, loose backup camera hardware over the counter, which I refused due to liability. The dealership is currently withholding my VIN-assigned safety remedy part…
The 2022 RAM Promaster 1500 was converted by Thor Industries to a 2024 Thor Scope 18M in spring 2023 before I purchased it from a dealer in Connecticut. However, information concerning this conversion was not shared with the federal government as the vehicle VIN still lists it as a Promaster 1500. This caused me to miss notification for NHTSA Campaign Number 25V792000 involving a potential travel hazard created by adhesive failure leading to solar panel detachment. While traveling south to St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada on [XXX] on [XXX], the panel on the roof did detach when the vehicle I was driving was passed by a bus. The incident occurred on a lightly traveled section of road and …
This is a Thor Scope RV built on the Promaster 1500 platform. The incident involves the Onan gasoline powered generator, which is directly connected to the fuel tank. Next to the generator in the fuel line, there is a small white inline fuel filter connected by the fuel hose going over a nipple on the filter and reinforced by a hose clamp. In my case, the hose clamp was not installed sufficiently over the nipple (far enough back on the fuel hose that it did not completely engage the nipple), and presumably from vibration associated with the generator operation and driving, the hose fully detached from the nipple and spilled fuel in an uncontrolled manner until I smelled/noticed it coming out…
The contact owns a 2021 Ram 1500 Promaster. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V068000 (Equipment) regarding the awning. The recall remedy had been completed at General RV Center (1577 Wells Rd, Orange Park, FL 32073). The contact stated that after having the recall repair completed, while driving less than 10 MPH, the contact heard the rotation sound indicating that the awning had deployed, landing into a tree and causing permanent damage to the awning. The contact had taken to the awning to the awning company and the dealer. The awning company had not provided any assistance or repair. While taking the vehicle to the dealer it was confirmed that the awning needed…
While driving approximately 45 mph the awning engaged and fulling extended.
Rear passenger seat/couch, had passengers in back, hit bump and had to breakâ¦couch came apart as it was held together by two wood screws, once it came apart, seatbelts became useless as they became loose. Metal that holds them is cut in half and in a crash, passengers would go forward into driver.
Rear exit door on driver side will not open. THOR has placed a cabinet on the side that blocks the emergency exit in case of a kitchen fire. Manufacturer should have reversed the cabinetry or made it where both doors open in case of emergency.
I bought this THOR Scope with a recall on the awning. I reported to you that the fuel leaked from line to generator. I also reported all lines, propane/fuel/electrical touching everything sharp. THOR has tried to fix my awning recall 3 times in less than one year. Each time they say theyâve fixed it, it comes out going down the road. I have to pull the fuse. So does EVERYONE who has bought these. Read the forums. THOR will not provide me a copy of paperwork of what theyâve done. They fly someone in to work on it at a dealer, but wonât say what theyâve done. No record. This RV has so many electrical issues, safety issues that are being ignored. The water filter behind a cabinet ha…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
BMPro made an unintentional change to their programming at some point in MY2026 that affects the generator functions while the ignition is on. Currently the AGS and START GENERATOR buttons are grayed out while the ignition is on. The generator can be started with the ignition off and then it will stay running when the ignition is turned on. It just canât be started with the ignition already on. The AGS automatically disables, if itâs already enabled, when the ignition is turned on as a code requirement. However, with the current programming, it canât be reenabled once the ignition is on.
The interior lower panel of the sliding door may become loose and pull or warp away from the chassis sliding door. Adding snap buttons will resecure the interior panel flush to the door.
The seatbelts for the rear, side facing seats may be too long for some passengers.
Revision to TSB 22-09 adding additional steps to make the repair easier and a time adjustment was made for the repair time.
Rize/Scope A/C not installed correctly.
The Generator and battery tray hangs down below the rear axle line of the vehicle and may contact road obstacles, such as speed bumps, at low speeds.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2021–2026, owners most often name: equipment, unknown or other, electrical system. 17 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
