When driving on wet roads, water from the right side rear wheels sprays up into a metal battery compartment holding both the chassis and house batteries. This compartment has three large drain holes in the floor of the compartment and, there is nothing underneath those holes to prevent rain water from being thrown into the compartment. The water in the compartment is causing premature rusting, which will eventually lead to failure of the floor, and the batteries may fall out. Also, all of the components in the compartment, including batteries, cables, binding posts, etc. are getting saturated with water which is causing corrosion and has the potential to cause an electrical short. The Dealer…
I am reporting a serious and repeated safety defect involving Hehr side windows installed on my 2018 Thor Palazzo 36.1 motorhome (VIN: [XXX] ). Multiple operable side windows on this RV have experienced adhesive bond failure between the scissor arm/operator mechanism and the vent glass pane. This has caused windows to partially detach and violently flap while driving at highway speeds. One rear bathroom window completely detached and flew off the RV during highway travel in 2022. Additional adhesive failures have continued occurring from 2023 through 2025 involving: - Kitchen window - Living room window - Dinette window - Rear bathroom window (including replacement assembly) In several in…
The contact owns a 2022 Thor Motor Coach Pallazo RV built on a 2022 Freightliner XC-S Chassis. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55-60 MPH, the front cap was shuddering, and the contact noticed that the windshield was abnormally moving from side to side. Additionally, a prior crack on the windshield was expanding due to the failure. The contact stated that upon arriving at the residence, the contact became aware that the windshield had cracked significantly. The RV was taken to an Auto Glass Shop, and the windshield was replaced. The contact was informed that upon installing the windshield, the windshield was 1-2 inches too low due to defective brackets. The RV was taken t…
The Thor motorhome has several windows. The windows they installed are laminated windows, with two panes of glass and a seal or glue which connects the outer glass to the inner glass. The attachment method for the outer glass is ineffective. As a result, the outer glass pane comes loose from the inner and is prone to fall off or fly off at highway speeds. The risk is that the pane could strike another vehicle and possibly cause an accident. Already Thor has replaced two of the window units on this unit around 2021, not under warranty but as a customer courtesy. I now have a third window unit that is experiencing the same problem. It is apparent to me Thor has acknowledged there is a ri…
Several windows have become delaminated and either foggy which results in significantly reduced visibility while driving or the window becoming loose and potentially falling off while driving.
The passenger side front window is a 2 pane window and the seal between the 2 panes has failed and the window is fogging up which makes it difficult to see the side mirror on the passenger side of the motorhome. This makes driving difficult with the fogged window.
Driving down the highway and the DEF check engine light came on. It indicated to pull over and shut down immediately. I was on a highway that had long 7% grade hills with minimal places to pull over in arizona mou tain range. I was able to make it home after engine debated. Took to a freightliner dealer and paid 4400.00 to have DEF pump replaced. It turns out that was not the problem. I tried to go on another trip a month later and I hot a low DEF signal. I was told it was a DEF head. Freightliner XCS chassis our having lots of issues with DEF. The def is for emissions and should not shut the engine down or debate the performance for an emussion issue.
MY 2018 THOR PALAZZO DRIVERSIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS HAVE FOGGED UP TO WHERE IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE OUT OF AND HAS BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2013–2025, owners most often name: visibility/wiper, structure, unknown or other. 44 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
