WE PURCHASED THE MOTOR HOME FROM CAMPING WORLD IN JUNE OF 2025. IT WAS TRANSPORTED TO TEXAS AND WE FLEW TO PICK IT UP. WHEN WE WENT TO VIEW THE MOTOR HOME THERE WAS TAPE ON TWO OF THE WINDOWS, AND WHEN I QUESTIONED WHY, THEY STATED THAT THE BRACKET BROKE AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. WHEN WE PICKED IT UP TO DRIVE HOME THE WINDOWS NO LONGER HAD TAPE ON IT AND WE ASSUMED THAT THEY HAD REPLACED THE BRACKETS. WE WERE HALF WAY BACK TO WEST VIRGINIA WHEN WE REALIZED THAT ALL THEY HAD DONE WAS PUT COMMAND STRIPS ON THE WINDOWS TO HOLD THEM. ONE OF THE WINDOWS CAME OUT AND WHEN I REASEARCHED HOW TO PUT IT BACK IN, I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL RC00023I, THAT THERE WAS ADHESIVE FAIL ON THE VENTED P…
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F53. The contact stated that the lower bottom of the window was flapping. The contact used liquid adhesive to secure the windows. The windows were taped shut by the owner. The dealer was contacted and declined the repair. The dealer stated the failure was not associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V522000 (Structure, Equipment). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 11,550.
The contact owns a 2023 Thor Motor Coach Miramar. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the entry door latch failed to unlatch. The contact was stuck inside the RV and could not unlatch the door. In addition, the contact made several attempts to unlatch the entry door and the entry door handle fractured and detached. The contact stated that a good Samaritan arrived and assisted the contact with exiting the RV. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 8,176. The VIN was not available.
There is a electric privacy shade inside my RV for the windshield. My motor failed in the down position. I tried to get a replacement motor but none is available. I emailed the manufacturer of the shade and they gave me a replacement part number, this is where the safety issue comes in. The original motor has two memories built into it, four wires to control it. With the key off, while you are camping, you can press the SHADE down button and the shade will go down on its own and stop in the correct position. Same thing when you press the SHADE up button, this is memory ONE. Any time you have the ignition key on the shade goes into memory TWO mode and will raise the shade to about half way up…
The receiver hitch tore on both sides where the manufacturer (lippert) bends it, you can see where there press pinched the bend possibly weakening it. I have seen other forums and posts today about similar issues and denied responsibility from lippert on those posts. The hitch is available for inspection, ourselves and others were at risk of injury or death. I have not brought the physical unit into a shop, I donât think itâs an insurance claim, and I donât think I can report it to police? Since the situation was realized before it became catastrophic. The website will not allow me to add photos. Please respond back and I can reply to that email with photos
While driving on the highway at 60 MPH in a thunderstorm, the passenger windshield wiper collided with the driver's windshield wiper and became entangled with each other. I completely lost all wiper function and could no longer see the road. This was a life-threatening situation, with traffic all around us, and luckily, I was able to pull off the highway after about a quarter of a mile until the rain subsided. My wife and two grandchildren were in the RV at the time and this could have been a disaster. I called Thor this morning and they are tight-lipped about this problem happening to others, but I see in online Thor forums that even after an earlier recall, it is still happening to more re…
RV- 2022 Thor Miramar 34.5 With 2021 Ford F53 Chassis I appreciate your attention because this is the BIGGEST issue and safety concern. We spent over 160k on this class A that doesn't even feel safe to drive. As the driver or passenger, we are white knuckled. There is no stability when driving. The steering wheel is all over the place. A gust of wind pushes us off the road, every bump completely jars the camper. This is absolutely horrible. It is unsafe and scary. We are very experienced drivers and have drove large trucks and fire trucks. But this doesn't compare to anything we have ever driven. But they said don't worry you can fix that: Install springs, shocks, sway bar, trac bar. A…
This is a Class A Motorhome. It has one door for entering and exiting the camper. The door handle to get in and out is a horrible design. As a firefighter it scares me and I plan to change it as soon as I find a perfect match. If you are outside trying to get in you can not open the door easily. You have to pull it with 2 hands and violently force, yank, pull the door open. This is definitely a safety concern. This specific type of door handle is a well known issue with Thor motor homes. There has been so many complaints and concerns about it but currently there is no perfect match to replace it. How can Thor be aware of this and still continue to make this handle.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) has been made aware of several incidents involving trailer hitch receivers installed on motorhomes, similar to yours. These issues were caused by the use of drop hitches and hitch extensions that placed higher-than-expected forces on the hitch receiver assembly. If you use your motorhome to tow, please follow the recommended instructions in your ownerâs manual. THE USE OF DROP HITCHES AND/OR HITCH EXTENSIONS WHILE TOWING WILL PLACE LARGER STRESSES ON THE HITCH AND CAN LEAD TO FAILURE. TMC is requesting that you inspect your motorhomeâs hitch receiver at your earlie
On your vehicle, the rear axle may contain an inadequate volume of lubricating oil. An inadequate volume of rear axle lubricant may result in rear wheel bearing damage potentially leading to bearing seizure. Bearing seizure may lead to rear axle or driveshaft failure. A rear axle or driveshaft failure may result in loss of vehicle motive power, loss of transmission park function, and loss of parking brake function, increasing the risk of a crash. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: model year 2021/2022 Ace, Challenger, Freedom Traveler, Hurricane, Miramar, Outlaw, and Wi

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation, PE24023, on August 14, 2024, to investigate allegations of Thor Motor Coach motorhome frame or trailer hitch structure cracking and separating. The hitch was manufactured by Lippert and installed by Thor as standard original equipment. ODI received eight Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) describing the hitch structure cracking. If not caught in time, a cracked hitch can fully fracture and separate from the vehicle. O

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2014–2023, owners most often name: structure, equipment, unknown or other. 25 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
