What Thor Motor Coach Magnitude owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Thor Motor Coach Magnitude safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The contact owns a 2022 Thor Motor Coach Magnitude. The contact stated that the solar inverter failed to function as intended. The contact was unable to turn off or turn off the inverter. The warning lights were illuminated. A mobile RV mechanic arrived at the residence and diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the inverter Freedom 2000 was underrated for the vehicle and the compartment was not vented for heat. The contact was informed that the compartment was extremely HOT, and the metal inside turned blue where the positive wire was attached to the bolt. The mobile mechanic stated that it was luck that the recreation vehicle did not catch fire. The inverter Freedom Xantrex 2000 was rep…
I stopped at a campground after leaving SC. Discovered a Thor factory solar panel had detached somewhere between SC and Arkansas. The mounting bracket was still attached to the roof but the bolts, washers and nuts were missing on 2 of the 4 mounts and the other mounts had loose components. It would have been a possible catastrophic event if it would have detached at highway speeds.
Rear house battery tray weld failed, tray fell and hit the ground, damaging BIM, various cables etc. Identical to Recall 19V-566 (2019â2020) but not included for 2021.â¨â¨Safety concern: Batteries may detach on roadway, cause shorts/fire, or total power loss.â¨
The primary issue involves the large, full-wall slide-out system on our motorhome. Since new, the front portion of the slide has shifted outward during travel, even while fully retracted. This led to the slide binding and becoming inoperable. The manufacturer attempted to fix the issue twice at their factory service center. Their most recent solution involved providing a makeshift braceâessentially a stickâintended to wedge the front of the slide in place during transit. Since then, the issue has progressed. The rear of the slide is now also moving outward during travel, causing the front brace to fall out. As a result, the front shifts again, and the slide continues to bind. This pres…
The following severe safety defects were found on the motorhome: - The passenger side wall was NOT attached on the bottom to the frame. The mounting locations are missing all mounting hardware from the factory. The wall is breaking away from the roof where it is the only location anchored. If it wasn't discovered, the whole side wall may fall off endangering the occupants and other vehicles on the road. -The front cap is pulling away from the coach due to insufficient mounting screws on both sides, which could cause the front fiberglass cap to fall off on the road, causing an accident. - All compartments on the passenger side were not attached to the frame with any hardware. This was discove…
A wiring harness was found pinched, pins bent and broken, apparently in the process of mating the motorhome body to the cassis cab. This cable has power in it and could result in a vehicle fire. Thor has been completely unresponsive in assisting me, despite acknowledging itâs out of warranty, and I simply needed verification of their integration to the chassis, to reassure the after market warranty that this wasnât something âtampered withâ. As a retired fire fighter, I have seen the result of RV fires. They burn fast, and people die. I felt I had no option but to refer this after their intransigent and dismissive attitude. I can supply additional documentation when I retrieve the…
Multiple power train failures while driving on interstate shutting down Highway due to the inability to move vehicle. 6 instances now where I have received warning lights of hill assist, traction control, collision control and other features being disabled while moving.
The engineering and structural integrity of 80%+ of the thousands of Thor Magnitudes /Omnis produced from 2019 through 2023 are extremely questionable from a safety perspective. Thor Motor Coach, Inc. takes no responsibility for this, but the front caps of these motorhomes are separating from the rest of the coach. Thor refuses to issue a recall or further to cover a proper repair for this significant manufacturer defect. Thor will not even acknowledge that this is a structural issue due to faulty workmanship. The length, quality and quantity of the screws used have significantly contributed to this potentially fatal issue. There is not enough support in the extremely large and heavy overhea…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
There is a typographical error on the Federal ID Tag with regards to the PSI of the rear tires. New Federal ID Tag (âtagâ) provided with Owner notification letter.

It has been discovered that on certain Flame King model SMPC 20.3 Gallon LP tanks, there is a faulty fill valve. This affects certain TMC units built between 6/14/2021 to 8/10/2021.
On your vehicle, the nuts joining the front axle hub extensions to the front axle may have been improperly tightened. Insufficiently tightened front axle hub extension nuts may result in front wheel and wheel hub extension detachment from the vehicle, increasing the risk of an injury or crash. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: model year 2022 Magnitude and Omni motorhomes.

During production, the FM antenna was not included on the new 32â Connex Entertainment TVs (TMC Part # 484102). These TVs have a built in radio tuner, and the reception will be poor without the antenna
The windshield may not have been properly adhered to the vehicle during vehicle assembly. On your vehicle, it may be possible that the engine cover insulation does not fully extend to the perimeter of the factory engine cover. In addition, vehicles built on a Ford chassis may have higher engine compartment temperatures during certain idle conditions. This may result in elevated temperatures at certain areas of the engine cover surface in the passenger compartment on both driver and passenger sides. Direct and continuous contact with exposed skin at these locations may cause skin irritation and/or a minor burn. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: model year 20
A topcoat sealant was provided by our vendor that did not meet Thor Motor Coach's standard for performance. This was used on 2019 & 2020 Magnitude and Omni Motorhomes. If the primary sealant does not provide sufficient coverage, the cabover window may experience water intrusion. The repair will be to remove the existing topcoat sealant and apply the proper urethane sealant.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2018–2026, owners most often name: equipment, structure, electrical system. 15 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
