The floor on my coach above the Catalytic converter has become soft. I am being told it is from the heat from the Catalytic converter. O called Thor and was told there should be a heat shield there campong world of Ashville says there is not a heat shield on it I have a picture no shield is present. I mistakenly told them something was cutoff during a recall I thought it was aa heat shield but it was something around the radiator. I have all service records nothing has been done around the Catalytic converter area. From other post on Thor forums this problems seems to exist in several of thor models. I have even read this could cause a fire and since it is at the exit door I would thin…
The 8000 lb hitch failed disconnecting towed car. It happened when entering the highway. If this happened at speed it could have been catastrophic. There have been numerous failures of this hitch.
The ABS and traction light come in 2022 F53 chassis and 2024 Thor Motor home. No cruise control and breaks seem to not function properly. Cruise control is disabled. Start and stopping the vehicle erases the light until 63mph then again comes on. Looking atvall the threads online I am surprised you have not pushed Ford for a solution. 2 times repairs but not fixed. Brand new and sat in shop since day one.
In November 2022 we discovered that both brackets holding the front nose piece to the frame had broken away. Then we discovered the wall on the front passenger side of the Motorhome had pulled away from the floor and left an inch gap between the floor and the wall. We were able to temporarily fix it until we arrived home and it sits in our driveway. Thinking maybe the broken brackets had caused the problem we removed the trim on both sides of the front. On the passenger side we found the screws were all broken off or pulled through the wall. On the drivers side it looks like it had already been fixed once, it was full of holes and there were two different types of screws. Watching a video of…
The front cap seperates from the frame rail. There is a recall in Canada for the same issue. Transport Canada Recall - 2023087 - THOR MOTOR COACH Issue: On certain motorhomes, the brackets for the front lower cap may not be attached properly. As a result, the brackets could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A bracket that detaches from a vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealership to inspect the brackets for the front cap and replace the mounting hardware. The dealership will also install new brackets, if necessary.
There are severe cracks (photos attached) on the frame found where the trailer hitch is bolted to the frame. There is approximately 20,000 miles on the motorhome. Thor Motor Coach brochure advertises "8,000-lb. Trailer Hitch With 7-pin Round Connector" (see Attached). This implies the Coach can tow 8,000Lbs. Websites (www.rvusa.com and www.thorrvsource.com) actually state the "Towing capacity is 8,000 Lbs." I have an aluminum car trailer that is rated for 7,000 lbs. and unladen weight is 1460 lbs. The car that I trailer (2017 Hyundai Sante Fe) weights about 4000 lbs. for a total weight of 5,460 lbs. Less than the 8,000 lbs. that the brochure lists. These cracks could lead to a catastrophic …
See answers to questions below. This is not a unique issue and it has been reported by many other owners. The issue is caused by wind causing overtravel and binding in an improperly engineered wiper system on this model/era RV. I had to make sure to plan my drive home so that I didn't have to go through any weather. Video of the actual issue while it was happening is at https://photos.app.goo.gl/Gwvm94bvVLhZVbnZ9 Q. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? A. Windshield wipers. Yes it is still in a failed state. Q. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? A. I was driving my family of 4 and dog during a heavy rain st…
While traveling on I 87 in New York, the factory-installed receiver hitch broke off allowing my vehicle being towed to separate from my RV causing extensive damage to my 2019 GMC Acadia. This could have been catastrophic if the car had hit other vehicles on this heavily traveled road. There was no visible sign of cracking or metal fatigue prior to the separation. This is not the first time that a tow hitch has separated from a Thor RV.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) has been made aware of several incidents involving trailer hitch receivers installed on motorhomes, similar to yours. These issues were caused by the use of drop hitches and hitch extensions that placed higher-than-expected forces on the hitch receiver assembly. If you use your motorhome to tow, please follow the recommended instructions in your ownerâs manual. THE USE OF DROP HITCHES AND/OR HITCH EXTENSIONS WHILE TOWING WILL PLACE LARGER STRESSES ON THE HITCH AND CAN LEAD TO FAILURE. TMC is requesting that you inspect your motorhomeâs hitch receiver at your earlie

On your vehicle, the rear axle may contain an inadequate volume of lubricating oil. An inadequate volume of rear axle lubricant may result in rear wheel bearing damage potentially leading to bearing seizure. Bearing seizure may lead to rear axle or driveshaft failure. A rear axle or driveshaft failure may result in loss of vehicle motive power, loss of transmission park function, and loss of parking brake function, increasing the risk of a crash. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: model year 2021/2022 Ace, Challenger, Freedom Traveler, Hurricane, Miramar, Outlaw, and Wi
On certain model year 2021 Hurricane & Windsport Motorhomes built on a 2020 Ford F53 Chassis, the fog light relay will buzz at a certain voltage range. The fix will be to install a harness to the fog light relay.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation, PE24023, on August 14, 2024, to investigate allegations of Thor Motor Coach motorhome frame or trailer hitch structure cracking and separating. The hitch was manufactured by Lippert and installed by Thor as standard original equipment. ODI received eight Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) describing the hitch structure cracking. If not caught in time, a cracked hitch can fully fracture and separate from the vehicle. O

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2024, owners most often name: structure, unknown or other, electrical system. 35 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
