[XXX] U.S. Army), Active-Duty Service Member (Stationed at Fort Knox, KY / Residing in Brandenburg, KY) I am reporting a severe structural manufacturing defect involving the room slide-out assembly on the driver-side flank of the vehicle body. Certified diagnostic testing and structural tolerance layouts executed by the component manufacturer, Lippert (LCI Case #[XXX]), and servicing dealership technicians (Camping World) have confirmed that the main slide-out housing and framing elements were installed, aligned, and integrated completely out of structural tolerance directly at the Thor Motor Coach assembly plant during production. This structural defect constitutes an uncorrectable manufac…
2026 Ford E-350 Chassis / Thor Four Winds 25Z motor coach; which only had about 800 miles on it! While driving north on I-81, the low tire pressure warning came on. So, I switched to the tire pressure screen and the outside left tire was dramatically loosing pressure from recommended 65 psi - dropping to around 30 psi within a few mile. We pulled of onto the shoulder, with only 3-4â clearance of traffic. My wife and I found that the angled extension valve stem came unscrewed from straight connection on the rim and was loosing lots of air. I was able to hand tighten the angled extension, then with needle-nose pliers snug up the valve stem extension. I then was able to use a portable compres…
The contact owns a 2018 Thor Motor Coach Four Winds Motorhome constructed on a 2017 Ford E-350 Chassis and hauling a 17-foot cargo trailer. The contact stated that while traveling to another state in the mountains, the RV suddenly began to buck and lost motive power and stalled on several occasions. The contact was able to pull over safely. There were no warning lights illuminated. The RV was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The RV was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. A mobile RV mechanic determined that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The RV was repaired, but the failure persisted. The RV stalled, leaving the occupants s…
The vehicle I rented â a Thor RV based on a Ford E350 â was handed over with a missing lug nut on one wheel and a dangerously loose lug nut on the opposite rear wheel. The component that failed is part of the wheel fastener system (lugs/nuts/bolts). It is not available for inspection now, as the vehicle has since been returned to the rental company. This situation posed a serious safety risk â had the remaining nuts failed while driving, the wheel could have detached entirely, potentially leading to a crash or injury. I noticed the issue during a basic inspection many miles after the pickup. I was forced to buy and install a replacement lug nut myself to make the vehicle roadworthy an…
My wife and I were driving Westbound on [XXX] in Washington state just East of Seattle when the driver side slide out went out on its own while my wife was sleeping on the couch. After taking it to the center it was purchased at they told me it was a failure of the safety retainers on the locking dogs that keep the unit secure when retracted. The manufacturer denied to repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2022 Thor Fourwinds Motorhome built on a 2021 Chevrolet Express-NAV Chassis and equipped with an unknown expandable ladder located in the closet of the motorhome. The contact stated that while utilizing the ladder to take a look at the bunk located in the cab of the motorhome, the aluminum brackets of the ladder that she had attached to the bunk brackets to hold the ladder to the bunk, detached and the ladder fell forward while to contact felled 4 ft. on her back. The contact stated that the label indicated that the ladder could hold up to 300 pounds and she weighed 133 pounds. The contact sustained black and blue bruises on the entire right leg. Additionally, the contact …
A recall had been done and thought to be corrected earlier this year, but we just heard a pop as we were pulling into our driveway and I immediately lost power steering and brakes stopped working seconds later. The connection to the Dot 4 tank came undone and all the fluid leaked out. If this had happened while we were driving down the highway I hate to think what could have happened. I am fearful to drive this RV in the future if the recall was fixed and it failed anyway. AAA will be towing the RV to the closest Ford Dealership today for repair. I had no warning lights, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure.
After purchasing used Thor Four Winds 31Y with 1095 miles on the odometer from Albany Rv, Albany NY in April 2021, the air bag system began to stay constantly on (illuminated). The dealer refused to address the issue. I had the air bag system repaired at Albany Light Truck and Car Repair, Albany NY at a cost of $1734.05. According to Albany Light Truck and Car Repair the cause of the problem was improper installation of the swivel front seats that pitched the seat sensor between the seat base and the vehicle floor cutout. Seats were rewired including drilling a separate hole in the floor next to the passenger seat to accommodate wire routing. Thor refused to reimburse me for the repair as I…

MBAG has determined that on certain model year 2019-2020 Sprinter vehicles, the retaining washer on the bolt that connects the brake pedal to its bearing block could come loose. If the retaining washer were to come loose, over time it could detach from the bolt, and in the worst case and with ongoing use of the brake pedal, the bolt might separate from the bearing block on one side. If this were to occur, the brake lamp switch could become continuously activated even when the brake pedal is not pressed. If the brake lamps are continuously illuminated, it would not be possible for followin

According to the tire manufacturer, Continental Tire the Americas (CTA), the affected tires may have an overcure condition and CTA has initiated a safety recall for these tires. According to CTA, overcured tires may experience a carcass break in the sidewall with sudden air loss or could develop a belt edge separation which could lead to partial or full tread/belt loss. These conditions may increase the risk of a crash. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: model year 2019 Quantum & Freedom Elite, 2019/2021 Daybreak & Four Winds, and 2019-2021 Chateau motorhomes.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: structure, wheels, equipment. 27 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
