The vehicle systems named most often in Newmar NEW Aire complaints (one complaint can name several).
In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
The dash gauge cluster screen has a defect with the glue that was used and is delaminating, this makes seeing information on the dash difficult, especially at night. This is extremely dangerous as important vehicle information safety information is not legible. The manufacturer is refusing to fix and is quoting more than $6000 for a replacement. My vehicle only has 28,000 miles and is stored in doors out of the sun.
The dash screen is bubbling/delaminatimg and is making it difficult to read the screen. The problem started off small and is growing into the speedometer. At the moment it is across the bottom center of the dash, over an inch tall. Vehicle was stored May 31, checked on. First noticed the issue on Aug 20 when leaving tire center after having valve stems and tires checked.
Wheel overheated, causing tire failure, rendering unit non-drivable. I'm told an incorrectly seated bearing was the cause; waiting for the entire axle to be replaced. Now 60 days with manufacturer-authorized service center representative who pursued issue even when manufacturer stated "all clear", which it was not. Warning gauge on dash indicated failure but only upon failure. Highly dangerous, in-traffic situation, I was stranded on roadside for hours in a tight situation - 2 lane highway on a curvey, mountain road.
Hinge failure on bay door. It is a common problem and has failed 3 times so far. The "C" clamp on the hing fails which causes the bolt to fall out and door to fall off. Newmar employees have stated that this is a poor design. Door falls off and the motorhome cannot be driven until fixed. It opens while driving going down the road, which could cause a serious accident. We are paying for yet another mobile rv repair to come out today and fix if possible.
During recent operation of the vehicle, the passenger-side front vent window failed to remain secure due to an apparent adhesive failure. The latch mechanism detached from the glass or frame, causing the window to become loose and unable to latch properly. This defect created a risk of the window fully detaching while driving, which could have led to a hazardous situation for vehicle occupants or other road users. No injuries or accidents occurred, but the issue significantly compromises vehicle safety. I am aware of NHTSA Recall 21V-571, issued in 2021, which addresses adhesive failure in Hehr 6400 series vent windows on 2019-2021 Newmar New Aire models, produced between October 1, 2018, a…
On June15, 2025, the passengerâs side vent window glass partially delaminated from the actuator assembly while driving, damaging the actuator and window glass. The front passenger window has never sealed properly since we purchased the RV new. Newmar was notified of this in August 2021, when the coach was returned to Nappanee, IN for warranty repairs. After the window failure, I discovered that Lippert/Newmar issued an NHTSA Recall for these windows on September 8, 2021. The recall notes the issue as being: âthe adhesive that bonds the vented portion of the window may fail. Adhesive failure may cause the vent portion of the window to detachâ¦â. We did not receive this recall noti…
The contact owns a 2021 Newmar New Aire RV. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the instrument cluster was distorted with moving bubbles inside. The contact stated that due to the failure it was difficult to read the screen. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
This system has no driver controls. While we ideally would like to maintain a huge space between the vehicle in front of us, in real world driving heavy traffic precludes us from being able to do so. When traffic is heavy and cars and trucks are pulling in around and in front of you this system starts beeping loudly and at a increasing rate. You are in a stressful situation with vehicles all around you which is made worse by a never ending loud beeping that becomes a major distraction. The system also changes your display but does not return it to your original setting which is another distraction as you reprogram your display while driving.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: exterior lighting, wheels, electrical system. 25 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
