The vehicle systems named most often in Newmar London Aire complaints (one complaint can name several).
In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
There was previously a recall on the power distribution modules on these Chassis the recall was insufficient, and these PMs continue to fail. This is a very much a safety hazard as the PDM controls lights as well as the electric fan clutch, which can cause the engine to overheat leaving you stranded on the road also it can cause lights to fail and the operator does not know they have failed. The issue tends to be intermittent in nature and very difficult to diagnose. I have contacted freightliner directly about this issue and they were of no help. This issue is all over the Internet and Iâve also know of several people that have filed complaints here with the national Highway transportatio…
The contact owned a 2023 Newmar London Aire RV. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds above 50 MPH, the steering malfunctioned, making the RV extremely difficult the remain inside the desired lane. The contact stated that there was a 2â4-inch play in the steering wheel making it difficult to steer and control the RV. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the steering box, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50. The VIN was not available.
The Back up camera and 360 camera fail frequently. The rear camera video will interminably go blank when backing. It will also sometimes change to the front view camera view which almost caused an accident in heavy freeway traffic because I thought I lost my trailer. I have had to replace 3 camera in 3 years and both Newmar and the camera manufacture Riverpark/Xicte have no solutions. Now the latest is to start replacing cables. The is a well known problem among RV owners.
TPMS has not been functioning correctly since October 2021. The rear wheels will randomly loose communication causing the TPMS display form that tire to disappear. (No Pressure reading). I have taking it to the Dealer NRIVC in Atlanta, GA., they added a second antenna in the rear. This did not fix the problem. I then took the Coach back to the manufacturer Spartan; they moved the antennas to the outside of the vehicle frame. This also did not fix the problem. This is a safety problem as you cannot see if tire is losing pressure, and the pressures that you do see you cannot trust as the problem randomly will occur in all rear wheels.
The hydraulic steps on this motor home automatically extend and retract when the door is opened or closed. The steps on this unit failed to retract after closing the door, and as I drove away, the steps hit a fence post. They could just as easily hit a person or driving down the road hit another vehicle. There is no warning system on this vehicle to warn the steps did not function as designed, and they are not readily visible from the driver seat. My understanding is that this has happened to others.
UNKNOWN I was traveling in this new to me 2020 Newmar London Aire on a trip of approx. 2,700 miles. The first issue was coming to a bridge in SC that was maybe 400 feet in length. There were lots of transition strips and dips on the bridge. When I first approached the bridge, my Motorhome bounced/propoised so violently that my wife flew up out of her sit and the front end dropped to the stops on the frame. I have been MHoming since 1999 and have never experienced this type of bouncing. I was scared and the MH continued to bounce on this bridge for another 6-8 times, although not as violent as the first bounce. We experienced this bouncing/porpoising many other times on our trip, just …
The 2022 London Aire is on Spartansâ K3 chassis. The unit experiences extreme porpoising to the point it is dangerous. Any road that has undulations set up porpoising that continues on for 4-5 cycles limiting steering control. Passenger has been lifted out of her seat literally. She did not have seat belt on but we have never experienced anything like this and it was on a freeway. Made appointment with Spartan service center in March 2022 to have everything checked. Realigned coach, set tire pressures d was told âthis is normal rideâ. Informed some customers were putting on koni shocks but Spartan would not pay for them as not warranty item. Had them install the Konis at our expense.…
The TPMS system fails to read tires while in motion. Primarily affects the rear outer drive axle, but all wheels, including front are impacted at random intervals. When standing still, the sensors will all read and display temperature and pressure. After driving for 10 minutes, a TPMS alert will display on the dash and one or more wheels will show as missing. The frequency of these alerts has caused me to ignore the TPMS system, rendering it ineffective. I have had it in for service on 5 separate occasions. The first time was Feb 2022, and the last time was 10/4/2022. During the service visits, additional antennas where added, antennas where relocated, and adjusted. This last service vis…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

The ATC OASIS-GEN1-1A (Newmar # 165355) controller will randomly fail to turn a furnace blower ON or OFF when the ATC HVAC-GEN1-2A1 (Newmar # 00300876-AA) sends a VBUS command.
There is a possible condition where the exterior entrance door handle mechanism can bypass the inside linkage causing a lock-out situation whereby the door cannot be opened from the exterior.
On certain motorhomes, the baggage door skins may come loose from the door frame perimeter, possibly allowing the skin to separate completely from the door frame.
The front upper cap may need to be braced under the windshield.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, unknown or other, exterior lighting. 18 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
