My vehicle battery overheated. The dealership was unable to identify the cause. I have since learned there is a battery recall on this make and model, and I believe the recall needs to be expanded to include my vehicle and the overheating was likely caused by the battery failing.
I own a 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC, which is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V073 / Mercedes-Benz Campaign 2026020004 concerning the high-voltage battery. I am filing this complaint because the vehicle remains subject to a known fire-risk defect for which the required recall remedy is unavailable, and Mercedes-Benz USA has been unable to provide a definite repair date. My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC (VIN [XXX]) is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V073 / MBUSA campaign 2026020004 for a high-voltage battery defect that may cause a thermal event/fire while parked or driving. Mercedes-Benz has determined that the permanent remedy requires replacement of the high-voltage battery, but MBUSA has confirmed that a replacement battery is not currently available for my VIN and has provided no firm repair date. Pending repair, Mercedes instructs owners to limit charging to 80% and park outside rather than in a garage or enclosed structure. These restrictions materially impair normal use. My wife's work requires frequent travel between [XXX] and [XXX], plus secure indo…

PRIORITY COMPLAINT: MANUFACTURER RECALL OBSTRUCTION & COERCIVE SAFETY WAIVER INDUCEMENT. My vehicle is actively subject to NHTSA Campaign 26V073 for a severe high-voltage battery defect causing an immediate fire hazard while parked or operating. Because the manufacturer has no immediate remedy available, I filed an administrative buyback request due to the extreme danger of driving the car. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has formally blocked my safety relief by deceptively citing irrelevant Florida Lemon Laws, despite the vehicle being legally purchased in Maryland and registered/operated continuously in Virginia. Furthermore, MBUSA is actively attempting to obstruct the safety intent of th…

Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel m

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2022–2025, owners most often name: electrical system, fuel/propulsion system, unknown or other. 19 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
