The contact owns a 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC. The contact stated that while his son was driving 28 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal and making a right turn, the battery message was displayed and the vehicle decelerated. The vehicle was pulled over to the right side of the road, and the contact selected the option on the radio, and the message disappeared immediately. The contact continued driving and then reversed, and the message was displayed again, and the brakes independently engaged. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V073000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The failure had occurred on several occasions. The approximate failure mileage was 19,489.
he vehicle intermittently fails to shift from Park (P) to Drive (D). Recently, the car was completely immobilized for over 6 hours because the gear would not engage, making it dangerous and unpredictable to drive. Additionally, the vehicle has experienced multiple charging failures where charging repeatedly cuts off unexpectedly. A formal diagnosis from Mercedes-Benz of Cary confirmed a front axle drive unit failure and high-voltage insulation faults, triggering codes U041A00 and P154800. Crucially, the certified technician noted a grinding noise coming from the axle drive module, which occurs specifically when slowing down. These symptoms perfectly mirror the known manufacturing defects out…
I own a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC. My vehicle has multiple unresolved high-voltage battery safety recalls. Recall 25V050/MBUSA campaign 2025040005 concerns a potential internal battery-cell short circuit and fire risk. I had the BMS software update performed, but Mercedes later issued recall 26V073 because the software remedy was not considered sufficient for all affected vehicles. Recall 26V073 requires complete high-voltage battery replacement. Until that repair is completed, Mercedes instructs owners to park outside and away from structures and limit charging to 80%. My vehicle also shows recall 25V487/MBUSA campaign 2025070009 as pending. This recall concerns a battery busbar c…
I am the owner of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB that has been identified as being affected by the current high-voltage battery safety recall. I recently contacted my authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer regarding the recall and was informed that the recall is currently pending for my vehicle and that the permanent remedy is not expected to begin until approximately December. I understand that the interim safety guidance associated with this recall includes limiting charging to 80% and parking the vehicle outside and away from structures. I have a significant concern regarding the parking instruction. My vehicle is normally parked in an attached garage at my condominium. The garage is connected to m…
The affected component is the high-voltage traction battery and related battery management and bus-bar connection systems. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am reporting a safety concern because my vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V050, which identifies a risk that the high-voltage battery could fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. It is also subject to NHTSA Recall 25V487, which identifies a defect involving the high-voltage battery bus-bar connection that may cause a sudden loss of drive power without warning. A battery fire could endanger vehicle occupants and people or property near a parked vehicle. A sudden loss of propulsion while driving…
I was driving my 2025 Mercedes EQB home after work August 11, 2026 and reached the end of my cul de sac, slowly turning left into my carport. As the front tires reached the sidewalk the car suddenly accelerated at extremely shocking high speed heading straight towards another car parked in there and the front wall. I slammed on the brakes and was fortunately able to stop the car right before it hit the wall and the other car. It was terrifying. Luckily I did not hit my dog who was outside at the time. There are tire skid marks on the carport concrete. I turned the car off and gathered myself then turned it back on, everything seemed normal and I reparked it so I could get out. Everyon…
Vehicle: 2023 MercedesâBenz EQB VIN: [XXX] MBUSA Case #: XXX NHTSA Recall #: 26V073000 MercedesâBenz USA has mishandled recall 26V073000 (fire hazard) and left me without transportation. I was told the vehicle is unsafe to drive, which has caused significant anxiety, panic attacks, and ongoing stress because I have no safe way to commute or manage daily responsibilities. MBUSA repeatedly promised a loaner vehicle, but the dealership stated they were never contacted, had no instructions, and had no loaner available. MBUSA later said I could receive a rental car âupon eligible dealership,â but they did not specify which dealership, and after calling multiple MercedesâBenz locations…

Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel m

Complaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. EXAMPLE: when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by doubleâclicking on the button instead. This reduces the likelihood of the button being activated accidentally or unintentionally. The recoding can be carried out as follows: 1. Add SA Code O19 into VeDoc (O for Oscar, not "zero") ⢠an XSS ticket may be n

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2022–2025, owners most often name: electrical system, fuel/propulsion system, unknown or other. 73 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
