I am writing regarding my 2026 AMG GLE53 Coupe. It has 6,000 miles. On XXX I was driving from [XXX] to [XXX]. On the drive up the Collision Alert engaged. It terrified me, as I had no idea what had happened. The car continued to drive normally, so I proceeded. When I was about to drive down a decline of approximately 7% grade, the brake light came on. Shortly after, the engine light came on. I reached my destination (one more mountain pass) as the car drove normally. I contacted the service department at the Mercedes Benz of Littleton. I was told to wait a few days to see if it reset. When I turned on the car the next day, the brakes were extremely compromised. I had to literally …
The contact owned a 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53. The contact stated that after his son parked the vehicle on a flat surface with the engine running, with the parking brake engaged, the driver walked away from the vehicle and the vehicle unexpectedly started rolling away. The driver attempted to re-enter the vehicle but was unable to enter the vehicle to stop the vehicle. The vehicle rolled down a 5-foot embankment and then another 4-foot embankment before coming to a stop near a residence. The contact stated that the gear shifter remained in park(P) during the failure. There was pink fluid underneath the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver sustained injuries to th…
Digital Instrument cluster screen has gone black 3 times since October 2025 making it impossible to see speed or other important driving safety information. Black out happened in October 2025, March 2026, and again on July 9, 2026. Screen eventually comes back after vehicle sits unused for several hours.
The panoramic sunroof exploded upwards and outwards while driving under normal conditions. It created an extremely loud and startling sound that left the driver and passenger stunned. We were fortunate there was not an immediate oncoming vehicle as we likely would have struck head on. Shortly after the explosion, tiny shards of glass began to fall into the passenger area. We were also fortunate to be able to get the vehicle safely off the road. The vehicle was brought to the dealership and the manufacturer was called. They are all pretending they have never heard of something like that happening when a quick search reveals this is a known manufacturing defect with a class action lawsuit file…
Panoramic sunroof suddenly broke on my Mercedes GLE53 coupe while on a major highway. There was nothing near my vehicle when this happened. My children were in a car and this was a very scary moment for us. Mercedes will not cover the costs of Replacing the glass, forcing me to make a claim with my insurance. This is the first claim Iâve had to make in years. This is unfortunate.
An authorized dealer returned a vehicle with loose hardware in a moving mechanical track, posing a risk of mechanical failure or distraction while driving.
Brakes went out and warped rotors at 5k miles. Happened again. Bad brake system. Needs to be recalled immediately!
According to the dealer, there are fault codes in the system for Transmission control unit failing. Thats what caused the vehicle to go into "limp" mode... That needs to be replaced. In an instant, the warning lights and reduction in power occurred simultaneously. The car slowed down and had to coast to shoulder of the highway crossing multiple lanes of traffic. The warnings that came on said âcar cannot shiftâ, âbattery failure warningâ and when stopped; âdo not restart the car.â The shoulder was very narrow and we could have easily been hit by the cars passing at high speeds on the beltway. We had to wait 2 hours for Mercedes roadside assistance to arrive. The dealer is sa…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain subject vehicles, the transmission control unit (VGS) in the automatic transmission does not meet current MBAG specifications. The polarities of the magnets in the transmission control unit (VGS) may have been inadvertently swapped. This, in turn, could lead to complaints regarding shift quality and gear lockups. Remedy MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will replace fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4) for the automatic transmission.
Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel m

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2021–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, unknown or other. 46 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
