This 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC 63 AMG has experienced repeated and escalating warranty defects involving engine performance, loss of acceleration, air suspension failure, and now inoperative advanced safety systems including blind spot and active brake assist. Despite numerous repair attempts at authorized dealerships, including extensive engine teardown and cylinder head replacement, the manufacturer has been unable to permanently repair the vehicle. The car has been out of service for 145 cumulative days to date and continues to exhibit safety-related failures. It is currently back at the dealership for service. The vehicle therefore qualifies as a lemon and the owner seeks statutory relief i…
The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC63. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for routine maintenance, and the contact was informed that there was an issue with the ignition coil. There was a misfire coming from the engine. The dealer determined that the ignition coil needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 2021070006. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Engine runs rough and activates a flashing engine light. Sounds like the engine is misfiring. On two occasions the engine stalled,(no power steering, brakes...) luckily not in a dangerous situation. No engine codes were visible to a technician when try to diagnose. Car seemed to run fine again after restart.

The SIM has the potential to become disabled and wonât connect to the mobile network. They have announced the problem but it has been months with no remedy even though itâs stated to be performed over the air. If I get into an accident there is a chance emergency responders will show up late if at all. This risk is there everytime I drive my vehicle
THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE. WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION WILL NOT DELIVER POWER IN RESPONSE TO THROTTLE APPLICATION, IT IS ALSO INCONSISTENT IN IT'S RESPONSE FROM ONE TIME TO THE NEXT. THE VEHICLE WILL HESITATE FOR UP TO 4-5 SECONDS BEFORE RESPONDING TO THROTTLE COMMANDS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHILE ROLLING BETWEEN 5-10 MPH AND APPLYING POWER ALSO WHILE MAKING A SHARP TURN. THE POWERTRAIN ALSO IS EXTREMELY INCONSISTENT IN IT'S RESPONSE WHICH MAKES PULLING INTO TRAFFIC EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I SUSPECT THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM SENSORS IN THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (MB ESP), THE TRANSMISSION MODULE AND THE FLY BY WIRE THROTTLE AND ENGINE CONTROL …
WHEN USING ENGINE START/STOP FUNCTION, OVER THE COURSE OF 3 DAYS AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR, WHEN AT A LIGHT, THE CAR DID NOT START BACK UP.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 08/2018 WITH 900MILES CERTIFIED PRE OWN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR ENGINE LIGHT. EACH TIME THEY HAVE KEPT IT FOR OVER 2 WKS. I HIT MY HEAD ON FRONT WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE IMPACT. THE DEALER STATES IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED BUT SAME PROBLEMS OCCUR ALMOST MONTHLY. *TR
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Such ineffective repairs have a negative imp
A software update will be performed that provides enhancements to the robustness and system stability of the communication module. The update is free of charge and runs in the background, which takes about 8 minutes to install. During this time, the vehicle can be driven without any restrictions, and the new software will be active with the next ignition cycle. Remedy MBUSA will conduct an OTA service campaign. Remote software updates are automatically downloaded and installed in the customerâs vehicle free of charge and do not require a dealer visit.

Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel m

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2018–2026, owners most often name: engine, power train, electrical system. 9 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
