On Sunday, XXX at approximately 5:30 PM, I entered the parking lot of a Staples store at [XXX], in my 2025 Mercedes Benz AMG GLC 43 SUV. It was daylight and the weather was clear. There was no wind and the temperature was in the low 80s. I drove down a parking aisle and slowed down to make a right turn into an open parking space. After completing my turn into the parking space, I let my foot off the brake to allow the vehicle car to roll closer to the wheel stop. Once my foot was off the brake, the car suddenly accelerated on its own, and before I could react, the vehicle hit and jumped over the curb and continued accelerating into the wall of the Staples building before coming to a stop. Th…
The suspension has malfunctioned on a car with only 89,000 miles. Upon starting the car, the vehicle says to please wait while it is rising. However, when I drive it, a red alert says to stop driving because it's too low to drive, and the car looks very low and lopsided. This is a safety concern when driving on the highway and around town. This appears to be an issue on other Mercedes models, such as the 2020 model; please consider 2019 as a year of concern as well.
Moisture began collecting inside the left headlight assembly, even though the housing should be sealed. Over time, the condensation increased and the front left turn signal failed. The vehicle displayed warning messages for the turn signal, low beams, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and Active Brake Assist. The failed turn signal reduces the vehicle's visibility to other drivers and creates a potential safety hazard. A similar moisture intrusion issue was the subject of NHTSA Recall 22V-261 for certain 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC vehicles, but this vehicle was not included in that recall despite exhibiting the same symptoms. The vehicle is available for inspection.
The engine-driven vacuum pump and turbocharger boost-control vacuum system malfunctioned. The vehicle developed insufficient vacuum to the boost-control system, resulting in a P0299 turbocharger underboost fault and reduced engine power. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle experienced a noticeable loss of peak power and reduced acceleration. Although it did not enter limp mode, unexpected reduced acceleration could create a safety risk while merging onto a highway, passing another vehicle, entering or crossing traffic, or attempting to avoid a collision. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership scanned the vehicle, confirmed fault code P0299, and documented that…
At just 30,000 miles â less than half the mileage at which these failures are typically reported â my GLC 43 was found to have active oil leaks in multiple locations: 1. Front engine covers â oil is seeping from both the front cover gasket area and migrating downward along the engine block. The dealer recommends a full reseal of the front covers at a quoted cost of $1,944. 2. Radial shaft sealing ring of the front axle gear â is actively seeping gear oil, with a quoted repair cost of $1,718. My concern is not limited to cost. Oil migrating from the front cover area toward the lower engine, accessory belt, and turbocharger assembly creates a documented fire risk. The turbocharged M…
every time I get into my vehicle, I have a new malfunction that pops up and when I take it to the dealership they can never find whatâs wrong. I have had multiple instances where my screen will turn black and thereâs nothing I can do or the screen will freeze, and I canât figure out how to get it back on. I canât figure out how to get CarPlay to automatically connect to my phone because the vehicle is so jacked up. Itâs been in the shop probably about 13 times since Iâve gotten it last December and has been in collision for six months now from someone rear ending me. every time collision calls me to pick it up and says itâs fixed itâs not fixed.
The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power while driving on the freeway. The check-engine light began flashing, and the car immediately stopped accelerating. I was in the fast lane at freeway speeds when the vehicle lost power, forcing me to activate my hazard lights and merge into the slow lane to avoid being hit by other vehicles. It felt like the engine was about to stall in traffic, creating a major safety risk to myself and others. Component that failed: The dealer confirmed a constant misfire in Cylinder #2, caused by a burned spark-plug electrode. The misfire was present almost continuously. All four spark plugs had to be replaced. The failure is available for inspection and is d…
The vehicle has an ongoing transmission downshifting malfunction. The powertrain unexpectedly downshifts while driving, causing sudden changes in speed and unstable vehicle behavior. The issue can be inspected at any time, as the defect occurs intermittently and has not been repaired. This malfunction puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle can slow down abruptly or shift aggressively without any input from the driver. This can create dangerous situations in traffic, especially at highway speeds or during acceleration. The problem has been reproduced and observed multiple times by the Mercedes-Benz dealership. I have taken the vehicle to the service center repea…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Complaint Slight creaking noises when steering. Cause Noises may come from one or more sleeves of the horn contact plate. Remedy Remove the horn contact plate and check the sleeves for noise; see attached video. If necessary, apply lubricant to the sleeves.

A software update will be performed that provides enhancements to the robustness and system stability of the communication module. The update is free of charge and runs in the background, which takes about 8 minutes to install. During this time, the vehicle can be driven without any restrictions, and the new software will be active with the next ignition cycle. Remedy MBUSA will conduct an OTA service campaign. Remote software updates are automatically downloaded and installed in the customerâs vehicle free of charge and do not require a dealer visit.
Complaint Noises in the steering column area when steering. See example file in the attachments area: "MRSMâSchleifgeräusch_SCCMGrindingNoises. MOV". Cause Under analysis. Remedy Check which area of the steering column the noises occur in. Do the noises tend to occur at the bottom in the driver footwell or do they tend to occur in the area of the steering column switch module (MRSM/SCCM)? If the noises occur in the area of the MRSM/SCCM, work through the following points: â Loosen screws of the MRSM/SCCM and steering wheel, reâalign the MRSM/SCCM, and reâfasten the screws (see WIS). S
Complaint CEL illuminates and/or AC does not blow cold. Cause Potentially relevance to hardware and/or software Remedy Scenario 1: 1. If the AC does not blow cold air, replace compressor (if compressor's index and part number Figure 1 match against Table 1). a. If the compressor does not fall within Table 1, please open a TIPS case. b. Flush procedure must be followed as per WIS. Scenario 2: 1. If AC does blow cold. a. Follow the following procedure: i. Have the air conditioning system recharged. ii. Clear the fault codes afterward. iii. Let the vehicle stand for 8 hours (OBD reset condition).
Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel m

If not, then it is outside of the scope of this LI. ⢠This also does not cover "Traffic Sign Inoperative" messages on the instrument cluster. Cause There are two identified reason
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20
On January 8, 2021, after ongoing review with Mercedes Benz, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE21-001 to assess allegations of front roof panel detachments while driving at highway speeds in certain 2015 Mercedes-Benz (Mercedes) C-Class vehicles. The subject front roof panel is a stationary panel composed of polycarbonate and is attached to the vehicle via adhesive at the time of manufacture. Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2016–2026, owners most often name: unknown or other, electrical system, engine. 36 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
