Noticed a strong odor of gas, well actually my kid did was sitting in backseat. I had just filled up and the smell didn't disipate. The next morning i still smelled it. I removed the seat and cover on the drivers side and almost half a gallon of pure gas was sitting there. I cleaned everything up removed all the gas. Reconnected the battery and its litteraly coming from micro cracks in the lid. I can send you the lid. I have since replaced it now i'm dealing with a 3699 code and just don't understand why a part like this that is recalled on other models with my 2013 w204 c class was not included just e, and cls.
Both driver and passenger seatbelts do not fully retract and remain loose. Must be manually guided back into mechanism. I see that there has been a recall for the cabriolet version of this vehicle platform but not for the coupe version. I am unsure why there hasn't also been a recall for the coupe C205 as it is the same platform and having the same exact issue. I have read on forums that there are also other drivers of the coupe platform that also have the same issue with the seatbelts not retracting so this appears to be a common issue with the vehicles safety devices.
I have a 2018 Mercedes Benz c63 amg which I purchased new in 2018. I have only 61,230 miles yesterday 11/10/2025 it started making a loud noise coming from the right rear. I drove to the Mercedes dealership in Belmont,Ca the technician mechanic told me that the rear differential was bad and need to be replace. Cost $7,000. I don't understand only 61,230 miles why did it go out so soon I always had the maintenance done. My warranty has expired. I did some research and found that there was a recall for 2018 Mercedes Benz c63 amg related to the rear differential. The recall was issued due to potential issues with the rear differential that could lead to a loss power to the rear wheels, increasi…
The electronic steering lock failed resulting in my car being completely disabled. My safety was not at risk in this particular instance. I was left stranded in a parking lot at night. The component was not inspected by the manufacturer or dealer. The manufacturer/dealer did not inform anyone that this problem will happen to every car with this compensation. This component failed without warning/symptoms/messages. It will fail on all Mercedes Benz cars from 2008-2016. The problem has not been confirmed or communicated by the dealer. Other Mercedes benz owners have encountered this problem resulting in their cars being disabled and leaving them stranded.
The fuel hose on the right hand side of the vehicle is leaking onto my engine. You can easily see this leak and smell it when unlocking the car in the morning. It is dangerous and could easily result in a fire.
The rear differential failed, causing both rear axles to be broken and the vehicle to lose all propulsion on a city road. A noise in the drivetrain under acceleration was first reported to a dealership in Nov 2023 about five months prior to the failure, but the report was dismissed as tire slippage and not addressed further. Then the failure occured in April 2024, and the vehicle was towed to a dealership and repaired out of warranty at great expense. There were no warning lights or symptoms immediately prior to the failure.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63. The contact stated while attempting to refuel the vehicle, the fuel tank door would not open unless the excessive force was used. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank door failure was a known manufacturing failure. The fuel tank door was replaced by the dealer on several occasions but the failure recurred. The vehicle was temporarily repaired with wiring to prevent the fuel tank door from closing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
My brother was driving his car on the highway and out of no where the sunroof literally exploded causing the glass to shatter on him and the front panel to detach from the vehicle. Swinging and hanging on the side of the car causing dents, scratches, and chips making this a safety hazard. Thank god my brother was able to safely merge over to the emergency lane without causing any accidents my brother was shocked with glass raining down on him when this happened but he wasnât injured glad no one was injured in this incident because anything couldâve happened. A lot of Mercedes have a recall for the sunroofs front panel which causes it to detach from the vehicle while driving which I belie…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Complaint Slight creaking noises when steering. Cause Noises may come from one or more sleeves of the horn contact plate. Remedy Remove the horn contact plate and check the sleeves for noise; see attached video. If necessary, apply lubricant to the sleeves.
A software update will be performed that provides enhancements to the robustness and system stability of the communication module. The update is free of charge and runs in the background, which takes about 8 minutes to install. During this time, the vehicle can be driven without any restrictions, and the new software will be active with the next ignition cycle. Remedy MBUSA will conduct an OTA service campaign. Remote software updates are automatically downloaded and installed in the customerâs vehicle free of charge and do not require a dealer visit.
Complaint Noises in the steering column area when steering. See example file in the attachments area: "MRSMâSchleifgeräusch_SCCMGrindingNoises. MOV". Cause Under analysis. Remedy Check which area of the steering column the noises occur in. Do the noises tend to occur at the bottom in the driver footwell or do they tend to occur in the area of the steering column switch module (MRSM/SCCM)? If the noises occur in the area of the MRSM/SCCM, work through the following points: â Loosen screws of the MRSM/SCCM and steering wheel, reâalign the MRSM/SCCM, and reâfasten the screws (see WIS). S

Complaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel m

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: air bags, power train, unknown or other. 25 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
