What Lucid Air owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Lucid Air safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The contact owned a 2023 Lucid Air. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH and attempting to park the vehicle, the vehicle became uncontrollable and started spinning, crossed the street, crashed into bushes and trees, but failed to stop when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle then crossed the street again and crashed into a wall. The air bag deployed and struck the contact on the head. The contact sustained bruises on the leg. Medical attention was provided. The vehicle then failed to shift into park. The contact stated that the sensors failed to operate as designed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The manufacturer was contacted by email, and the contact was informed that…
My carâs backup camera and main infotainment computer lag badly. It is available for inspection. When I start the car, I have to wait 20â30 seconds for the system to boot before it even lets me shift into reverse. Once in reverse, the backup camera stutters and lags significantly instead of showing smooth, real-time video. This creates a severe blind spot for crossing pedestrians and cars when backing out, violating FMVSS 111 rear visibility standards. The issue consistently repeats on cold starts and is well-documented on early Air models. Lucid has inspected and serviced the car via routine service and OTA updates. No warning lamps appear. I am on the latest software (v2.11), but up…
Last spring my car had a drive system fault and the car stopped operating while on the road. Lucid replaced the computer system at my cost because I am a commercial driver. This last Thursday I was driving and my car went into turtle moad for no reason while I was on the freeway when I pulled off the road it ceased operating again. The rear inverter and power unit failed.
The vehicle manufacturer (Lucid USA, Inc.) is refusing to perform federally mandated safety recall remedies under 49 U.S.C. § 30120 for open safety recalls SR-24-04-0 (NHTSA 24V-495) and SR-26-06-0 (NHTSA 26V540). Vehicle VIN [XXX] holds an official State of Arizona Restored Title. The vehicle is currently immobilized due to a physical Webasto High-Voltage Coolant Heater (HVCH) failure resulting in an Auxiliary Power Supply (APS) fault, falling under Campaign 24V-495. Furthermore, Lucid is withholding the software deployment for Campaign 26V540 (eFuse fire risk, software build 2.10.0+), which carries an explicit NHTSA advisory to park outside away from structures. Lucid refuses to execute…
Specifically, I need to highlight the following critical issues: Severe Rear Windshield Condensation & Zero Visibility: Every morning, a thick blanket of condensation forms on the inside of the rear windshield. Their is no wiper and rear windows are heated electronically by pressing a rear defroster button on infotainment display. Even after running the rear defroster/heating continuously for 15-20 minutes, the condensation fails to clear. My commute requires entering the highway within five minutes of leaving home, making every morning drive hazardous due to zero rearward visibility. Failure of Brake Lights During Regenerative Braking: During highway driving, strong regenerative braking e…
The contact owns a 2022 Lucid Air. The contact stated that the HVAC defroster warning light was illuminated, and the defroster was inoperable. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V011000 (Visibility); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The message âDefroster not Availableâ was displayed on the instrument panel. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer confirmed the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.
While travelling to California on a personal trip my vehicle displayed a "Battery System Fault" warning message on the driver's display and advised me to stop the vehicle in a safe location within 120 seconds. After pulling off the highway onto the shoulder of an exit ramp and stopping the vehicle it would not longer shift into drive and displayed a "Vehicle Not Driveable" warning message. -I was told by the manufacturer that the AC compressor had failed, causing damage to other components and leading to a loss of high voltage isolation. -The vehicle gave my 120 seconds to reach a safe location before the vehicle lost drive power. I was travelling on a very busy highway and could have been …
On XXX, my wife, [XXX], was operating the vehicle on a public roadway at approximately 40 miles per hour with our children as passengers. Without warning, the vehicle began jerking violently and decelerated to a stop in a live traffic lane, displaying a "Drive System Fault" message. Throughout the event, the vehicle would not respond to accelerator or brake input. The vehicle came to rest in a moving lane of traffic. No vehicle was following us at that moment; had one been, we would have been struck from behind. After restarting the vehicle, I was able to move it off the roadway at roughly one mile per hour, with the right rear wheel catching and refusing to rotate freely. The vehicle was th…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
In a Part 573 Report dated July 27, 2023, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (JLR) notified NHTSA of a safety-related defect in 2021-2022 Jaguar I-Pace vehicles. This filing was assigned Recall No. 23V-518. JLR noted that the subject vehicles are equipped with High Voltage Coolant Heaters (HVCH), supplied by Webasto Group (Webasto), that can develop cracking and delamination of the heating element, leading to an inability to defrost the front windshield, which may increase the risk of a crash.
On January 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) received Recall 24V-011 that identified a safety defect in the High Voltage Coolant Heater (HVCH) installed in certain Model Year (MY) 2022-2023 Lucid Air vehicles manufactured prior to July 2022. The HVCH may experience an internal delamination failure, which poses a risk of the vehicle losing defrost capability. If the HVCH fails, coolant cannot be heated, and the windshield cannot be defrosted. Loss of adequate windshield de

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2022–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, power train, unknown or other. 82 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
