My husband secured our infant into the car seat and attached the seat to the base installed in the car. He then drove our child. When he removed the car seat it was discovered the right side of the seat (when facing) was not clicked in and could be lifted up. When he removed the seat he noticed the clip on the inside of the shell, that connects to the base, was completely missing meaning he had been driving our child only partially secured. When we turned the car seat to take a picture the retractable clip on the outside of the same portion fell out. We just got this car seat in XXX (new) and have only used it since our son was born at XXX. He is [XXX] old and well below the weight limits. …
My vehicle was moving slowly in a pickup line for my child. Randomly, the seat belt retractor went off and pulled me back into the seat. Initially, I thought it was a gunshot. Smoke was all in the car. My neck/shoulder has some bruising and cuts from the seat belt. There was a seatbelt light on the dash. It has been there for some time, but the recall's hasn't been issued and it's not realistic to not have a car until FoMoCo issues the fix.
My son was getting into the front passenger door after school today and went he stepped up on the auto running boards it closed on his foot crushing his foot in between the vehicle and running board. The running board would not release. Multiple people in the carpool line saw my son screaming and crying in pain and had to run over to help me stand on and put pressure on the running board to create enough space for him to be able to barely pull his foot free. He suffered redness, swelling and bruising in most of his toes and toe joints. Plus trauma from the incident itself. His foot was trapped for over 1.5 min with 3 adults and 2 teenagers trying to help him free it. Unacceptable. This is in…
On XXX, around 7:00â8:00 PM, I was driving a 2019 Lincoln Navigator normally when the driver's seat-belt pretensioner suddenly deployed without any crash, collision, or impact. The seat belt tightened forcefully against my chest, causing an injury, and I noticed a strong chemical/fume smell immediately afterward. A [XXX] infant was in the rear seat at the time. I was evaluated by a doctor the following day and diagnosed with a contusion of the unspecified front wall of the thorax. X-rays were performed, and I am currently awaiting the results to determine whether there is any additional injury. I was prescribed pain medication. The vehicle has not yet been inspected or repaired, and the s…
The contact owns a 2020 Lincoln Navigator. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V402000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving toward a red light at 10 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly shifted into park(P), causing the contact's chest to strike the steering wheel. The engine then shut off. The vehicle was restarted, and the Hill Assist, Pre-Collision, and another unknown warning light were briefly illuminated before turning off. Additionally, the transmission was slipping while drivin…
2025 Lincoln Navigator L Black Label. Vehicle has experienced an intermittent recurring condition involving unintended braking/deceleration and inability to accelerate normally. During an occurrence, the vehicle can begin slowing/braking without the driver commanding it and then may not accelerate normally or travel much above approximately 30 mph despite accelerator input. There has also been abnormal cruise-control behavior associated with an occurrence. The condition has been experienced by three different drivers. During the most recent occurrence, the unexpected deceleration created a risk of being struck from behind. The vehicle was previously presented to an authorized Lincoln deal…
On August 31, 2026, at approximately 11:07 a.m., the vehicle had been parked and was stationary with the engine running. After remaining stationary for a short period of time, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly moved backward rapidly on its own. I did not intentionally command the vehicle to move backward and I did not press the accelerator. While the vehicle was moving backward, I pressed the brake pedal twice in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The brake pedal felt soft, as though there was little or no braking resistance, and the vehicle did not respond to my braking attempts. Immediately afterward, the vehicle unexpectedly moved forward and struck a vehicle in front of it. That vehic…
The dealership said the Cam Phasers were bad, and I saw that there was a NHTSA report on it. The manufacturer paid a percentage of the cost to fix, but not the entire thing. This is a vehicle that an elderly woman purchased before her husband passed and now runs her grand kids around in. Although the problem was fixed it was bothersome to not have this known issue addressed and risk stranding the occupants. NO warning lights no messages, just a rattling noise at start up. The vehicle had 59000 miles on it.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Quality improvements include: -Steering column memory calibration update to minimize unnecessary contact with mechanical hard stops
Quality improvements include: -Software update to improve responsiveness of the door control system after the vehicle enters a low-power state
Some 2024-2026 F-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module (BCM) when performing a Self-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note:
Some 2025-2027 Navigator vehicles equipped with multi-contour seats (minor feature code BYBAL) may exhibit a condition where the second-row seat does not return to the latched position (under power) after pressing the power return button (located on the outboard side of the seatback). To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This may be caused by an occupant pulling the manual release strap. The manual release stra
Quality improvements include: - Connectivity robustness updates
Some 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E, 2025-2026 Navigator and 2024 F-150 vehicles may exhibit inoperative welcome/approach detection lights. This may be due to the body control module (BCM) software. To correct the condition, download and run the "BCM - Programmable Module Installation (PMI)" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. If the condition persists after PMI, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-01 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operation

Some 2027 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with power running boards may exhibit an intermittent condition where the power running boards are unable to deploy or retract with a "Power Running Board Fault" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C1008:15 and/or C1009:15 may be stored in the driver seat module (DSM). DTC U0208 and/or U0244 may also be stored in various other modules. Other DSM functions may be affected such as heated/cooled/memory seats. This may be due to the software in the DSM.<br /><br /> If the DSM does not respond during a networ
Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above equipped with one-touch up/down windows may exhibit a condition where a window does not respond to one-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one-touch close function.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: power train, electrical system, engine. 399 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
