The carbon fiber interior trim on my 2018 Lexus GS F is delaminating at three locations: left of the steering wheel, right of the steering wheel, and the center console/shifter surround. The clear coat is lifting, cracking, and separating from the substrate, and it has worsened with temperature cycling. Mileage is approximately 72,000. The parts remain installed and are available for inspection on request. Safety risk: The lifting clear coat next to the steering wheel causes glare in direct sunlight that can impair forward visibility. The separated edges are sharp and pose a cut risk to the driver's hands during normal operation. The damage is in the driver's direct field of view and is dis…

2013 Lexus GS350, VIN [XXX], manufactured 04/2013. Mileage at repair was approximately 117,310â117,485 miles. During diagnosis for check-engine/EVAP codes, liquid gasoline was found inside the EVAP canister / Leak Detection Pump assembly. This EVAP component is intended to handle fuel vapor, and the presence of liquid fuel appears abnormal. The vehicle had multiple EVAP codes confirmed by both an independent scanner and the Lexus dealerâs Toyota TIS/Techstream system: P2401, P2402, P2419, P043E, and P043F. Park Place Lexus in [XXX] documented that the Leak Detection Pump was mechanically âstuck ON/OFFâ and the Pressure Switching Valve was âstuck ON.â This appears consistent wit…
During highway driving speeds low pressure fuel pump is showing symptoms of issues. Car will cut off while driving and requires 12V battery reset. Low pressure fuel pump will make noise similar to a â humming â noise from underneath rear seats of the vehicle. Lexus corporate is refusing to perform and include my 2016 Lexus GS-F for the open recall. Lexus manufacturer recall ID : 26LB05 ; NHTSA recall ID : 26V222.
The servo motor is bad per Lexus dealership. There is a recall for this exact problem for newer models. Years 2013 - 2016 should be included. My daughter has a 2006 Lexus, and it has the exact same problem. Lexus has a problem with their HVAC systems. The air conditioning stalls when turning on and goes from cold to warm when car is is idling.
I own a 2016 Lexus GS 350 and noticed in 2018 that the dashboard had a sticky substance not realizing the dashboard of my car was indeed melting! It looks terrible! People get in my car and ask, "What happen to your dashboard?" I live in Houston, Texas where temperatures reach upper 90s even 100s which affects my visibility while driving due to the glare reflected on windshield with melting dashboard. With research it's unfortunate Lexus has not sent out recall notice on this matter. I am all too familiar with a melting dashboard of vehicle as my 2008 Toyota Camry LE had this issue. With time Toyota issued recall notices to owners and promptly resolved by dealership. I express my concern w…
The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2013 Lexus GS 350. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle while making a right or left turn, and the steering wheel was moved all the way. The contact stated that it felt like the tires were driving over a bumpy road. In addition, the vehicle independently veered to the left while driving. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the steering wheel electronic control unit had failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact related the failure to…

Some 2010 â 2026 model year Lexus vehicles may exhibit paint stains after the removal of Rapgardâ¢. NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-spe

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2020, owners most often name: steering, unknown or other, service brakes. 133 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
