- Problem
- KZRV, L.P. (KZRV) is recalling various 2002-2018 recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V749-9547.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. - Risk
- In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
- Fix
- KZRV will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 154 or 153, or Kidde customer service toll free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

“THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 K-Z SPORTSMEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOCK ON THE FRONT DOOR FAILED TO LOCK OR UNLOCK. THE CONTACT COULD ONLY ENTER THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.”

“THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KZ SPORTSMEN SPORTSTER TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BOTTOM SURFACE OF THE REAR RAMP LOADING DOOR WAS EXTREMELY SLIPPERY WHEN DRY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM BUT THERE WERE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE.”
