Under the 5th wheel RV, which is using a Lippert suspension system, at all four locations where the leaf springs attach to the RV frame there are cracks in the box steel and in the welds.
Frame flex, front walls came loose when welds broke, walls were bowing out, repair shop said it shouldnât be on the roud
I have a 2022 KZ Durango 321RKT. The frame has been flexing up in the front by the bedroom slide out. There is now a crack in the bedroom wall, which expands from when itâs on the truck to when itâs on the landing gear on the ground. It also is causing the outside of the RV to buckle in the same place. KZand Lippert both said that thereâs nothing that they can do. Thereâs no frame flex in my camper and that they fixed it before my camper was built and they also said that itâs three years old. Itâs out of warranty. Warranty and frame should not be in the same sentence together that is the main component of the camper. There is also another issue with the frame on these campers whe…
Driving on a highway doing approx. 50mph, I experienced a massive blowout of a tire on the left side of my 5th wheel trailer. I got it to the side of the road without issue. Reviewing the tire damage, the entire tread was completely ripped off. These tires came originally installed in on the 5th wheel I purchased new. The same day I drove it home, it caught a nail, and it slowly leaked out on our initial drive. Les Schwab tire repaired the tire (back in Sept 2021). It has been 3 years w/o any tire issues and we have put about 3500 miles on the tires. The tire was mailed back to the manufacturers rep per their request to review. The response back was that they saw it had previously be…
The contact owns a 2022 KZRV Durango. The contact stated that one side of the awning fabric had detached, causing the awning to unintendedly drop. The contact stated that five people assisted in roping the awning back into place. The RV was taken to the dealer; however, the RV was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V552000 (Structure) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE RAM 3500 EQUIPPED WITH A 2019 KZ RV DURANGO HALF TON FIFTH WHEEL. WHILE THE RV WAS ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE, THE LANDING GEAR FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO HOLD THE LANDING GEAR IN PLACE WITH A STRING, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY AN INDEPENDENT TOWING COMPANY TO THE RV DEALER (RAY CITTE RV, 1677 WEST RIVERDALE RD, ROY, UT 84067, 855-837-8863). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC SEALS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
YOU HAVE A RECALL # 18V-540, WITH REGARDS TO A INCORRECT LABEL FOR PROPER TIRES. IT INDICATES PROPER TIRES TO BE ST235/85/16G AND INCORRECT LABEL ON TRAILER IS FOR ST235/80R16G. PROBLEM IS NOT JUST INCORRECT LABEL, IT ACTUALLY HAS UNDERRATED TIRES, RV CAME WITH ST235/80R/16 E RATED TIRES. THESE TIRES ON RV ARE TO BE INFLATED 80 PSI (E RATED ) RECALL INFO AND STICKER LABEL SAY IT SHOULD BE 110 PSI ( G RATED ) ALSO THEY ARE INCORRECT SIZED FOR RIM, TIRES ON RV ARE 80R NOT 85R AS INDICATED ON STICKER AND RECALL. PLEASE HELP, I BELIEVE TIRES ARE UNDERRATED FOR VEHICLE WEIGHT AND SIZE. THANK YOU
AS I WAS STEPPING OUT OF MY 2013 KZRV DURANGO 1500, THE STEP RIVET BROKE AND I FELL ONTO THE GROUND. FORTUNEATELY, I WAS NOT INJURED EXCEPT FOR SOME SCRAPES ON MY KNEES. I FOUND OUT THROUGH A FRIEND THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED BY KZRV FOR RIVET FAILURES ON QUAD STEPS. ONE OF THE RIVETS IDENTIFIED IN THE RECALL WAS A #08 RIVET WHICH WAS THE SAME AS THE RIVET ON MY STEP EXCEPT MINE WERE A 3-STEP AND NOT THE 4-STEP AS MENTIONED IN THE RECALL. Questions
What are the most common Kzrv Durango problems?
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2013–2026, owners most often name: structure, equipment, suspension. 10 complaints are on record.
Is a complaint or a TSB the same as a recall?
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
How do I report a problem with my Kzrv Durango?
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
