What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The bolts attaching the lower cable pulleys for the living room slide shear off. The damaged components are still in the wall of my camper. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If they had broken going down the road during the next right hand turn the slide could come out unexpectedly causing collision or roll over of the travel trailer. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The travel trailer has been repaired on two separate occasions by the authorized selling dealership. Awning framing LAG bolts not installed correctly during manufacturing, according to Lippert installation instructions. All LAG bolts were overtorqued, spinning in place & not biting in the side of the RV body, creating a transportation critical safety issue. Removed awning, framing & all hardware to transport RV safely to an RV repair shop. They replaced all LAGS with rivets to ensure safety.
There are 4 bolts that hold the backing plate to the axle. All 4 were missing from one of the wheels. The brakes of that wheel were over heating to the point of billowing out smoke. We called the dealer and the tech thought a stuck brake. Told me how to cut the wires for just that wheel. Trailer was dropped off at the dealer for repair and is available to view. I also took two photos. I feel as though there was a risk of our wheel falling off, potentially causing us to roll the trailer or the wheel hitting someone else.

WHEEL BEARING ON FRONT AXLE WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY. I25 IN COLORADO.
THE TRAILER HAD A SEVERED BRAKE WIRE, THE RESULT OF AN INSTALLATION ISSUE. THE WIRE WAS TOO LOOSE AND WAS ALLOWED TO REST ON ROTATING COMPONENTS. THE OTHER THREE WHEELS ALSO HAD LOOSE WIRES THAT THE TECHNICIAN HAD TO SECURE, THOUGH THEY DIDN'T NEED TO BE MENDED. THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE BRAKE CONTROL BOX WAS READING SHORT CIRCUIT AND EVENTUALLY WENT TO AN OVERLOADED CONDITION AND STOPPED APPLYING THE BRAKES ALTOGETHER.
THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE DEADBOLT LOCK CYLINDER. I WENT ON LINE AND FILLED OUT THE FORM TO GET THE REPLACEMENT. IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE DELIVERED IN 10-12 BUSINESS DAYS. WHEN IT DID NOT ARRIVE, I CALLED FASTEC INDUSTRIAL. THEY SAID THEY WERE EXPERIENCING EXTREMELY HIGH VOLUMES OF REQUESTS DUE TO THE RECALL, SO IT WAS TAKING LONGER THAN NORMAL. I WAITING A FEW MONTHS AND CALLED BACK. THEY SAID THEY WERE JUST GETTING TO THE FEBRUARY REQUESTS (WHICH WOULD BE MINE). SO I AM STILL CONTINUING TO WAIT. NOW IT HAS BEEN A LITTLE OVER 7 MONTHS! I AM TIRED OF WAITING. I THINK THAT IS A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME. *TR

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: equipment, service brakes, unknown or other. 9 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
