The driver side main support beam that runs the entire length of the trailer from front to back cracked. Also, many of the support beams that run the width of the trailer were twisted and nearly falling off. We had to replace the entire main support beam on the driver side as well as smaller supports that ran the width of the trailer. The first repair was in June 2022 for the smaller support beams. The second repair was in April 2023 for the long, driver side support beam.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KEYSTONE LAREDO. WHILE DRIVING OVER 60 MPH, THE RV BECAME VERY UNSTABLE AND SWAYED LEFT AND RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIVER CITY RV (4545 W. BETHANY RD, NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
TIRE #1 BLEW OUT IN OKLAHOMA ON JUNE 14TH AND WAS LEFT BEHIND. AT THE TIME, I THOUGHT IT WAS A RANDOM FAILURE AND JUST MOVED ON. TIRE #2 BLEW OUT IN TENNESSEE ON JUNE 28TH. THE TIRE TECHNICIAN AT DISCOUNT SHOWED ME HOW TIRE #3 WAS SEPARATED AND READY TO FAIL. THE SPARE NEXT TO IT WAS FLAT ACROSS THE TREAD, BUT #3 WAS NOTICEABLY DOMED. AFTER IT WAS REPLACED HE PUSHED DOWN ON THE TREAD AND YOU COULD HEAR THE SOUND OF THE METAL PLIES IN THE TIRE MOVING AROUND. TBC BRANDS PASSED MY CLAIM ONTO UNICORN TIRE CORPORATION. THEY HAD THE TIRE INSPECTED AND AGREED IT SHOWED STEEL BELT SEPARATION. THEY OFFERED $375 FOR $2000 DAMAGE. IT IS SAD THESE TIRES ARE USED ON NEW KEYSTONE TRAILERS. TRAILER…
CARBON MONOXIDE AND FIRE HAZARD. ON DECEMBER 4, 2016 WHILE CAMPING IN MESA, AZ WE ENCOUNTERED A HEAVY RAIN. AFTER TURNING ON THE FURNACE WE SMELLED SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY AND THE FURNACE WAS HARD TO IGNITE. FURNACE WAS SHUT DOWN AND AFTER EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT SMELL CAME FROM THE FURNACE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. IT WAS FOUND THAT A METAL VENT COVER THAT COMBINES INTAKE COMBUSTION AIR AND AN EXHAUST OPENING BELOW IT HAD LOUVERED HORIZONTAL OPENINGS POINTED UP, THAT ALLOWED RAINWATER AND OTHER WATER FLOWING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TRAVEL TRAILER TO ENTER THE ENCLOSED COMBUSTION CHAMBER. INVESTIGATION OF THAT PROBLEM LED TO VARIOUS WEB-SITES WHERE OTHER PEOPLE HAD ENC…
I BOUGHT THIS KEYSTONE LAREDO 295RK IN 2012. THE CAMPER CAME WITH POWER KING TOWMAX STR ST235/80R/16E TIRES. THEN IN OCT 2015 THE RIGHT REAR SEPARATED INTERNALLY, BUT DID NOT GO FLAT, DATE CODE 4910 CALLED MANUFACTURER AND THEY ADJUSTED TIRE. THEN IN OCT. 2016 ANOTHER TIRE SEPARATED RIGHT FRONT POWER KING TOWMAX STR ST235/80R/16E DATE CODE 4910 CAUSING DAMAGE TO CAMPER, CALLED WRECKER AND HAD SPARE INSTALLED. AT THE TIME THE TIRE BLEW I WAS DRIVING ON 2 LANE STATE HIGHWAY WITH SPEED LIMIT OF 45. GOT TO CAMP GROUND 1/4 MILE AWAY AN INSPECTED OTHER TIRES AND THE FOUND THAT THE LEFT FRONT HAD AND INTERNAL SEPARATION, BUT STILL HOLDING AIR, POWER KING TOWMAX STR ST235/80R/16E DATE CODE 4910.…
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 KEYSTONE LAREDO EQUIPPED WITH SUTONG, TIRE LINE: SUPERCARGO, TIRE SIZE: ST 235/80R16 TIRES (N/A). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, AN ABNORMAL VIBRATING AND RUMBLING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE CONTACT REPLACED THE TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500. THE DOT NUMBER AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
A 2015 TRAVEL TRAILER, KEYSTONE LAREDO 240MK PURCHASED IN AUGUST 2015 HAD THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM, CONSIDERED A SAFETY HAZARD: WHILE UNDERWAY WE HAD A FLAT TIRE. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE THE TIRE AND INSTALL THE SPARE TIRE, IT TURNED OUT THAT THE BOLT PATTERN DID NOT MATCH THE AXLE LUGS. IT WAS CLOSE BUT NOT QUITE. WE HAD TO MANAGE TO CRAWL TO A SAFER PLACE WHERE FROM HELP COULD BE SUMMONED. AN INEXPERIENCED OR OLDER DRIVER MAY MISTAKENLY HAVE THOUGHT THAT THE WHEEL WAS SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE AXLE AND DRIVEN OFF. THAT WOULD UNQUESTIONABLY HAVE RESULTED IN THE WHEEL SHEERING OFF THE LUGS AND A 'RUN-AWAY' WHEEL ON THE HIGHWAY, POSSIBLY CAUSING ALL KIND OF ACCIDENTS. THE MANUFACTURER, KEYSTON…
I HAVE HAD THREE TIRES EXPLODE WHILE PULLING MY 2013 5TH WHEEL CAMPER. ONE TIRE FAILED IN MARCH OF 2015 AND I RECENTLY HAD TWO MORE FAIL JULY THE 3RD OF 2015. I HAD TO BUY NEW TIRES WHILE TRAVELING. THE TWO THAT FAILED IN JULY DID OVER $5,000.00 IN DAMAGE. I AM VERY MAINTENANCE MINDED AND THE TIRES WERE WHAT APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS CORRECT. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER SAYS NO TIRES NO CLAIMS. THEY DO NOT WANT ANY RECORD. HOW MANY PEOPLE KEEP A HOT, HUGE BALL OF WIRE WHEN THEY FAIL. THE COMPANY KNEW ABOUT MY LOSS THREE DAYS AFTERWARDS AND MADE EVERYTHING MY PROBLEM. THREE OUT OF FOUR TIRES SUGGEST A TIRE ISSUE AND THE COMPANY WILL NOT LISTEN. AFTER I COMPLAINED E…

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2020, owners most often name: tires, wheels, equipment. 11 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
