I purchased two Ralson Steer Tires (drivers and passenger side) from Loves in [XXX] on XXX under invoice XXX. The drivers side tire tread pealed off the tire on XXX and was replaced by Loves roadside under invoice XXX in [XXX]. The passenger side tire tread pealed off on XXX and had to be replaced roadside by Loves under invoice XXX in [XXX]. The size is 295/75R22.5. These were brand new tires and both failed the same way in less than 3 months on the road. I have tried speaking with Loves and they seem un-interested in reviewing their relationship with the vendor or helping me. These incidents could have both caused accidents. I will never use this brand again, but I definitely feel its a hu…
On XXX, while operating a 2027 Kenworth T680, VIN [XXX], at approximately 64 mph on [XXX], the truck experienced a sudden electrical and control-system failure while in motion. The steering became extremely difficult or unresponsive, and the wheels or brakes appeared to lock, creating an immediate risk of a serious collision. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop without striking another vehicle. Following the incident, the instrument panel displayed multiple âData Errorâ messages, an ABS warning, traction-control warning, Predictive Cruise Fault, and missing engine RPM, oil, coolant, torque and boost information. The electronic parking brake would not release even though both air s…
I drive a 2022 Kenworth T680 equipped with a Bendix collision mitigation / automatic emergency braking system. On multiple occasions, the system has applied the service brakes hard with no real obstacle in front of the truck, creating a serious rearâend collision risk for vehicles behind me. The events typically occur in rain, fog, or under overpasses and signs at highway speeds with cruise control engaged. The truck suddenly brakes without warning or driver input, dropping speed rapidly in the travel lane while traffic is following. I have documented dates, locations, weather, and traffic conditions for these incidents. In each case, there was no stopped or slowing vehicle in my lane that…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation (PE21018) based on eleven Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQ). These VOQs included seven wheel-end fires on various Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. Several of the VOQs were submitted by a maintenance facility stating that the fires were due to power spring fractures within brake chambers manufactured by Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems (Haldex). According to the reports, the fractured spring punctured the brake chamber di

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2011–2027, owners most often name: service brakes, power train, electrical system. 77 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
