I am reporting a serious and recurring safety issue involving my 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The vehicle currently has approximately 95,000 miles. On the first incident, the vehicle became disabled and gasoline was pouring from the rear of the vehicle. Police and fire personnel responded and the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. The dealershipâs repair documentation states that the vehicle was brought in as a no-start with gas pouring from the rear and that technicians âfound fuel line disconnected.â The fuel line was resecured. Shortly after that repair, the same serious problem occurred again. The vehicle again became disabled and leaked a substantial amount of gasoline. Po…
My 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has experienced recurring electrical/electronic failures since shortly after purchase on August 5, 2023. I first reported an electronic issue to Stellantis September 5, 2023. Problems began under warranty and continued despite software updates, module reprogramming, and replacement of an internally failed radio. Reported problems include: ⢠Intermittent backup-camera failures ⢠False obstacle detection and repeated/constant parking-sensor alarms ⢠Service Electronic Stability Control warnings ⢠Recurring 4WD/drivetrain warnings and problems ⢠Transfer-case shift-motor electrical connection requiring repair ⢠Quadra-Lift failing to consistently raise/l…
My 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has not operated properly since I purchased it (January 2025). The most significant issues have involved engine, battery, and electrical failures, along with recurring problems related to the lighting, doors, trunk, and various cosmetic components. These issues have been repetitive. Each time the vehicle is brought to the dealer for service, repairs are often delayed for extended periods due to parts availability. Even after repairs are completed, many of the same problems recur. My experience with Jeep Corporate has also been frustrating, with slow response times and limited cooperation in resolving the underlying issues. Based on reports from other owners, the…
On XXX, a 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer towing a camper/trailer experienced a safety interlock failure resulting in an unintended vehicle rollaway and severe personal injuries. While leaving an RV park in [XXX], the driver felt a dragging from the trailer, stopped the vehicle, unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the driver's door, and exited the vehicle while the engine was running. Unbeknownst to the occupants, the driver did not manually shift the transmission into park prior to exiting. The Grand Wagoneer is equipped with two factor-designed automated safety interlocks intended specifically to prevent unexpected rollaways: 1. AutoPark: designed to automatically shift the transmission into park if …
I am currently operating this vehicle as a rental car and have encountered a severe visibility and safety hazard caused by the design of the Front Passenger Interactive Display on the dashboard. The specific angle, slant, and glossy finish of this screen act like a mirror, redirecting intense, blinding sunlight directly into the occupants' eyes depending on the sun's position, creating an immediate crash hazard. Incident 1 (Driver Blindness): Earlier yesterday, while driving northbound on [XXX] through [XXX] and into [XXX], the sun was positioned in the southeast. The sunlight entered the passenger side, struck the slanted passenger screen, and bounced directly into my eyes as the driver. Th…
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The contact stated that the sun visor failed to stay in place and was flopping around while driving at various speeds. The sun visor was inoperable and was a distraction to the driver. The contact stated that while making a sharp left turn at 10 MPH, the contact's vision became obstructed by the sun and the vehicle crashed into another vehicle on the opposite side of traffic. The air bags failed to deploy upon impact. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, and the front-end damage was repaired. The contact stated that the driverâs and passengerâs side third row headrests failed to remain upright and flopped backwards. The contact stated that the t…
My 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, VIN [XXX], has had repeated electrical, battery, power-loss, recall, and passenger-seat safety concerns. The vehicle was serviced for ongoing battery/electrical issues and remained at South Hills Dodge for approximately one month. During that time, I was told no loaner vehicles were available, leaving me without transportation. When the vehicle was returned on XXX, the front passenger seat was no longer operable, although it worked properly before service. I returned the vehicle the same day and was told the part would be ordered. I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive because the passenger seat was making unusual noises and sounded like it could fail further. …
I had to call the fire department because my the auxiliary battery in my Jeep had overheated creating a sulfur-like smell in my garage and eventually into my home. The fire dept recorded the aux battery temp over 200 degrees and the main battery was almost 150 degrees after sitting idle in the garage for over 5 hours and had only drove twice that day for no more than 20 minutes each time. I purchased the vehicle in May of 2023, I believe in Oct of 2023 the dealership had to replace the aux battery, now Aug of 2026 the aux battery failed again overheating and causing the main battery to swell and fail. The dealership was horrible about diagnosing the issue with no real answer and telling me t…

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2021–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, forward collision avoidance. 151 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
